There's a metastisizing cancer in 'news' reporting - Politico
Right wing funded. Blandly reported. Oh so subtle. Seemingly safe. Seemingly even handed. Their staff everywhere a cable show needs a 'non-partisan' 'reporter'.

Of late, they're being treated as a mainstream news organization akin to AP (awful in their own right) or Reuters or McLatchey or the Times.

I mean, what the fuck?

Why not Markos at Daily Kos? Or Huffington? Or our own DU?

They are sneaking this asshole organization into the 'mainstream' to replace the now exposed FOX News.

1. I agree for the most part, only because the founders (Van der hei,
someone else) used to work for the WaPo, or some similar org. So they're deemed fair and balanced even when their work often gives lie to that.

2. It amazes me that Politco gets cited on DU

It's been obvious to any critical thinker from the start what they're on about.

Like Fox, hate radio or the Post, it has ZERO credibility.

Glenn Greenwald sums it up:

The Right-Wing Politico Cesspool

3. Yeah they are clearly a rw hackery
and that was obvious when they were set up. "Why not Markos at Daily Kos? Or Huffington? Or our own DU?" - well because that would be actual independent analysis and opinion and Politico is all about appearing to be what it isn't. Politico is a deliberate sham intended to be a false front blogosphere authority.

5. Media likes the status quo
It makes their job easy and profitable. Why rock the boat when the current situation is so good for them?

6. Yep
The Politico is not our friend. I don't trust them. And I think we'll discover just how bad they are as this GE campaign progresses.

7. Glenn Greenwald calls it "The right-wing Politico cesspool"
And he backs that up with detailed analysis at this link from a few days ago:

8. I called it "Politics' answer to TMZ"
And I've been suspicious of them since they first turned up during the Republican debates.

10. I haven't trusted Politico forever.
All I needed to know that Mike Allen was involved and I became suspicious. Wasn't he implicated with Judy Miller of the NYT on the Plame leak?
