Teacher at Coral Springs private school accused of sexual relationship with student (Florida)

"A Lauderhill woman who taught 11th- and 12th-graders at a private school in Coral Springs was arrested Friday after police learned she had been involved in a sexual relationship with one of her male students for more than a year, authorities said.

Christine Brown Jouini, 38, a teacher at the Center Academy in Coral Springs, is accused of repeatedly having sex with the student at her former apartment in Margate and other locations off campus between June 2006 and September 2007, police said.

Jouini, who faces three counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor, is being held in the Broward County Jail without bond."

18 is the age of consent in Florida. In some states, like here in Colorado, is ten years older at 17, and 4 years older at 16.

Our laws regarding this matter are quite odd indeed.

A 27 year old man can fuck a 17 year old, but if he were to take a picture of her in the nude, he could be sent to prison.
