OFFICIAL "No S**T Sherlock" thread: "McCain Aide Says Bush Knows Little About Economy"
McCain Aide Says Bush Knows Little About Economy (Update1)

By Matthew Benjamin

June 6 (Bloomberg) -- George W. Bush's policies on the economy, other than on taxes, have been a failure, suggested John McCain's top economic policy adviser.

Douglas Holtz-Eakin said the only similarity between McCain's economic plan and Bush's is a commitment to keep taxes low.

``Sadly, it seems that is all President Bush understood in the economy,'' Holtz-Eakin said in an interview to be broadcast this weekend on Bloomberg Television's ``Conversations with Judy Woodruff.'' It is Barack Obama's budget plan, not Senator McCain's, that resembles Bush's policies, he said.

``It's dedicated to the recent Bush tradition of spending money on everything,'' Holtz-Eakin said.

This is the latest and most aggressive effort by the McCain campaign to distance the candidate from the unpopular policies of Bush. Illinois Senator Obama has charged that a McCain victory in November would amount to a third Bush term on economics.

4. Drugs and alcohol have a funny way of frying one's brain...
...and I'm going to assume he "earned" his MBA the same way every other Bush "earned" what they've been given...namely, he knows how to sign his name as "Bush" on a piece of paper.

I wonder how many of his term papers were written in crayon.

2. Or anything else for that matter other than sports.
His whole presidency has been a winner take all by any and all means strategy to gain his goals. He's not concerned about the body count left in the wake of his team as long as he was able to win everything he set out to win and in that he was successful.

3. Why did McCain vote 100% for every Bush Bill?

Jezz, the McCain Campaign is stupid if they think we won't
but another anchor and concrete block tying McCain to Bush's Titanic

5. Probably so that one day Karl Rove would do for him what he did for Junior...
...and that day has come, but Rove is damaged goods. His "permanent majority" wet dream went by the wayside and he's been reduced to being a "Fox News Correspondent."

The key to an Obama victory in November is the American people...the ones who work for a living, not the trust fund kiddies and old money assholes...the American people need to stay pissed off. They need to keep filling their tanks with $5 per gallon gas (in Silicon Valley CA, we are VERY CLOSE to hitting that number). They need to choose between buying food or heating their home.

Then they need to look over here, at Obama, and over there, at McCain...and decide how another 4 years of George W. Bush is going to improve their standard of living.

I'm thinking that the American people are smart enough to do that math, but we can;t get arrogant and cocky like we did with John Kerry. I don't give a shit HOW charismatic Obama is, or how many people want to compare him to the Kennedys.

This is going to take FOCUS and WORK. It can be done, but it ain't gonna happen on autopilot.

:patriot:

7. Other than taxes?!?!?!? Voodoo economics is the hallmark
of shrub's economic policies. What would his economic policy consist of if not giving tax breaks to the wealthy? Funneling a trillion dollars into the military industrial complex? Oh, right.
