Sounds like the guy is still a green with his progressive positions. In other words the pukes have no candidate!

1. Dayum! Another one we didn't (I didn't) even expect.
Could we really get to 60 THIS year?

2. Yes, it is possible to get to 60 in the Senate this year.
Votefromabroad.org is currently predicting we'll pick up 7 for a total of 58, counting the two independents who currently caucus with us.

11. No, this assumes both independents would continue to caucus with Democrats.

Defections are beyond the scope of every election projection.

3. The seat is that of a Democrat Max Baucus so it's not a gain
but they were gonna take a shot at Max.

4. Hot damn!
I told Green friends a long time ago they needed to concentrate on local offices and Democrats to vote Green locally to get progressives into the political pipeline.

Looks like they listened in Montana.

This is great news!

8. It's bad news.
The incumbent is a Democrat, Max Baucus.

12. If he beats Max
which he won't he'd probably be a very good senator himself.

5. The "accidental nominee".
His name is similar to that of a stalwart of the state Republican Party.

>Bob Keenan: Libertarian type from Bigfork. Republican Primary candidate two years ago.

>Bob Kelleher: Perennial left wing candidate. Switches Party affiliation a lot.

In a field of six possible candidates the Republican voters picked the most familiar sounding name.

9. Beating the GOP at their own game. They love to put Repukes turned Dem up for election. Look at
what they did with Cynthia McKinney.
