Concerning email morans and stupid right-wing propaganda,

does anyone now make up and email to everybody and their momma, LEFT-wing stupid email propaganda? Such as, a story about some prominent Neocon or Republican engaging in unorthodox sexual practices? Or that said Neocon/Republican is a closet (Gasp!) liberal?

If nobody's doing that, wonder if somebody ought to think about it. Many of these morans believe any forward that crosses their monitor.

I had a couple of friends who used to forward stupid left-wing stuff, years back. I forthrightly replied that this was not true, pointed them to resources like snopes.com to set them straight, and they stopped.

I've no problem with playing dirty; I just don't think this method's all that smart for us.

If someone were to write a piece of stupid left-wing e-mail propaganda about some prominent Neocon or Republican engaging in unorthodox sexual practices, it would only be because said winger was engaging in unorthodox sexual practices. I dare you to google David Vitter or Robert "Bob" Allen.

And if "closet liberal" is coded Republican language for "queer as a three-dollar bill," there's a bunch of those guys too.

We don't have to make shit up about the Republicans. The things they do on their own are surreal enough.

6. I've done that...

I've sent email responses noting that oil was $27 a barrel, and the Euro was about par with the dollar when Dimson took over, and others like it, to RW FWDs that cross my monitor. Usually sent by friends who had gotten them from RW friends and family.

Nothing ever happens.

I have Repy All-ed and even carefully copied email addresses onto the To line, and blasted them with Snopes and short, punchy rebuttals.

Crickets...

The only response I got was one reply from a blast I sent with a Snopes debunking of an Obama email. I added the piece about McSame calling his wife the C word and being physically violent. Guy's only response was "Sooooo...?"

The RW doesn't want dialog... at any level.

The only LW emails I've seen have been sourced and footnoted arguments that are pretty much unassailable. Anybody left of center just nods their heads when they get them, and the Rightwingnuts just ignore them.

Progressives generally use Reason, and that commodity is in very short supply in Murika these days, and many people don't even recognize it.
