Overconfidence(Dewey) or defeatism(Hoover)?

Has anyone ever done studies on which depresses voting turnout more?

8. I see no option for ritual hari kari.
It would be the honorable thing to do. I know people have done it for far less than completely fucking up an entire first world nation.

9. Let's let them continue on with their current mood swings...
Overconfident, arrogant, despondent, curled up in the fetal position and sobbing uncontrollably, then rocking themselves to sleep with "Reeeeaaagan, Reaaaaagan....." and finally waking to the bleak reality of Larry Craig's new book on the pillow.

Don't you realise nominal republicans are sick of the last 4 years too?

What I mean is never miss an opportunity to talk and open a mind. Our fellow Americans aren't enemies, as a rule.

11. Yes. Ugly negative campaigns and cynicism depress turn out the most.
That's why its the only thing you hear from the right and talk radio. Get ready for it.

12. Do both - predict a sure resolution to the immigration question
Most conservatives just can't stand McCain's position on it. If you express sunny optimism about how he'll finally 'sort this out' (preferably by pretending to be stupid and thinking he's going to seal the border and deport all criminals on day one), it will remind most Republicans of why they hate him so much in the first place.
