1. and isn't it a sad commentary...
...that it made Will so obviously uncomfortable to make that 'admission' on TV.

:(

2. Yes.
But I give him credit for both being one and saying so.

I was shocked and ...heartened. We're about to reach critical mass.

11. I posted on it last night.
I had a similar reaction to yours. A lot of people let George Will's George Will-ness get in the way of appreciating that someone (never mind who) actually admitted to being an agnostic on a popular TV show last night.

3. Finally!
I've known he was agnostic for a long time. Agnostic about economic matters. Agnostic about foreign policy. There's a huge volume of information for which he has no gnosis.

:silly:
dumbshit

9. No
Like Bill Buckley, he just plays one on TV.

I use as a definition of intelligence, a background of factual knowledge combined with analytical thinking skills to make logical deductions that can be proved correct or incorrect. The conservative mindset is different. The take a background of factual knowledge, combine it with a result they wish was true, and twist and contort the logic to link them together. It's like comparing evolutionary biology with creationism.

13. your right
of course. My point being... he is considered intelligent by the right. He has the character down, but if you ever read his opinions you quickly find out (like Buckley) he's often extremely wrong or factually incorrect. But it's funny to remember he's the intelligent mans conservative. Think how dumb the others are.

6. It surprises me too
but all it means is that he's an agnostic conservative asshole rather than a hypochristian asshole conservative. Those "mandates" that he says drive up the cost of health care are things like requiring health insurance to cover hospital stays for women who have had mastectomies. The free market isn't really free and it's rarely FAIR.

14. And Karl Rove is an atheist. Mother Teresa doubted there was even a god in the end.
The hard part for most folks to swallow is that frauds like Pat Robertson and their ilk all know that they are frauds.

What is sickening is that George Will has hid in the closet while enabling these religious nuts to destroy the people they despised in our beloved country.
