1. That is who I had pegged too
He's pretty, speaks well, rode Daddy's name to office, dumber than a box of rocks and easily manipulated. In other words another George W.
But don't sell McBushie short - while he's not as pretty and sounds like someone's squeezing his balls when he talks, he is at least not too bright and obviously easy to manipulate. I mean this guy can really pander.

3. I really was hoping it would be him. McBush is going to be a much more
difficult row to hoe.

Allen was SO bad a candidate, and SUCH an ahole that he couldn't keep it together for a mere senate run. if he could've only made it to this year, the M$M would have had to do an ever better job of spackling on the makeup than they did with Bush 2000

they're in the tank so far for McBush, though, that there's no need to hit the flush lever

4. I don't know if it will be enough
Republicans have been losing in normally safe congressional districts for them, and McCain can be tainted with all of the annoyance people have for President Bush and his foreign policy.

9. I hope you're right, but we're about to find out just how big a jones
the M$M has for McBush

they seem to be actually actively in love with him, as opposed to merely refusing to protecting B***, in a sort of defensive reaction

8. I think it was supposed to be Jeb Bush
If things had gone more according to plan, i.e. the Iraq war wasn't a debacle, Katrina hadn't been such a sore point, the economy wasn't tanking, energy prices weren't becoming painful, the housing bubble hadn't collapsed, etc. In fact, if Bush's approval ratings had even stayed near 50% Jeb would have been the most likely candidate. Seems like he did what his dad did, take super inflated approval ratings and run them to ground.
