NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Protesters carrying signs denouncing Republican presidential candidate John McCain gathered outside the Ryman Auditorium where hundreds gathered to hear him.
McCain held a town hall meeting in Nashville Monday afternoon. Hundreds of people lined up outside the former home of the Grand Ole Opry to attend the free event.
Former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist and former Sen. Fred Thompson spoke before McCain addressed the crowd at the historic building.
More than 30 protestors denounced the Republican presidential hopeful outside the historic theater.
Several protesters said they are not happy with McCain's policies. Some, donning Bush masks, said they see little different between the president and the Arizona senator.
