Anybody Know Why PBS Cancelled "Now" and "Bill Moyers' Journal" Tonight?
Instead, they're broadcasting a rerun of the Moyers' 90 minute special on the media's role leading up to the war. (Here in Arizona, at least.)

2. Bill Moyers Journal aired as scheduled here in Detroit....
.... The "Body of War" episode. Maybe your affiliate altered the sked to rerun the media's role because of McClellan's book release.

6. If they did, I missed it. I tuned in at the beginning of Bill Moyers' Journal.....
.... and it was followed by Charlie Rose talking to some warloving army commander.

8. Moyers show aired here in WI regular time
"Body of War" rerun. He started the broadcast by saying many local PBS channels were having their annual fund drive - maybe that is why they reran the episode.

5. In Iowa...
IPTV is hosting a debate between two of three Republican challengers for Tom Harkin's seat in the time spot that usually hosts Now and BMJ. Neither of those Repubs has a snowball's chance in h__ of taking Harkin's seat, but let them have their say. IPTV says they'll broadcast Now and BMJ in overnight spots so people can Tivo.

10. There seems to be a pattern here
In New Mexico that aired to repugs debating for Pet Dominhis seat in the Senate.

who the hell cares Tom Udal should win it and the repugs will lose a Senate seat.

Bill Moyers are just comfortable to listening to.. And the cases I have seen on PBS are weighty and god...

No yelling, no insult, just grown up people who are talking and are pointing out what they feel is right for them... And it so sorry to se this young man, younger than myself been bound to a wheals hair for the rest of his life, and with all the medical need he had... And the treatment he have had from the VA is just amazing... Not in a positive way, rather the opposite way, because as one veteran from the Vietnam was pointing out, he was in hospital for more than a year, and then have a lot of outdoor patience attitance... This poor kid who are just 27 year old, should not be bond to the wheelchair, but living.... This so sad, so dam sad....

But I also was seeing the spirit of the family of Thomas.. A family who was fighting this together, and are using this to fight for something they believe in.. Even that half the familitymember have decided that the war was Ok, they are still family, and can discuss it civilized... That is not a easy point just that... To be a family, even that they have proof for that this was in Iraq was amoral, and criminal.. With ten of thousands of maimed young soldiers as the victims... This is just one of the thousands, maybe ten of thousands of families, who have to do thing fundamentally different from what they are been doing for many year. Their young sons, daughters, cousins and so on is either dead, or maimed for life.. And they can _Not_ trust the Government to do their bid, after the soldiers are coming home... The Federal Government in US, have no money left, to Car for the maimed soldiers, they was sending out for war. And we all know what happened then, The VA hospitals, Walter Reed Hospital and so on... Disgusting that they have been treating the veterans that way if you ask me... And the current administration have vetoed more bills, who was to help the Veterans, than every one else in the White House have been doing for a long time. Why, because they have not the money to both get the soldiers the treatment, and the education they are entitled to, after serving and the war itself... The corruption, the overtaxing of soldiers and materiel, have broke down every one in the armed forces... In an all voluntary army we do se how the powerfully are treating the poor.. As Cannon fodder.... They can fight their wars.. But are not been given what THEY HAVE THE RIGHT to get in return to get in harms way..

The price for this war is high, not just in dollar, but also in human cost.. And I am afraid we have not been seeing the end of the price, before the latest american soldiers are out of Iraq.. Then "might" the american soldiers can get the treatment they really deserve.. Wold the Iraqi war, be given a Iraq war wall in Washington DC. As the Vietnam war was given after the americans was out of the country?.. How many would be on the wall when the finnish are counted?:. 10.000 20.000 40.000 50.000 or more?.. The Vietnam war ended because most american finally understand that this war was not possible to win... How many soldiers have to be killed before the same is coming to the american public this time.?.. A public draft, where thousands more are been send to their early grave, becouse they was been told to do so.?

We are also been seeing what the vote in the Senate and Congress, where politicians who was afraid of been "soft on terror" voted for the war.. And we also was seeing the members of the Senate and Congress, who was against the war.. The same people who was been told, by the "right wing media" to be cowards before, wen and after the occupation of Iraq... 5 YEAR after, US are still in Iraq, and look more and more desperate to find a solution where they can send back troops... They even told the world lately, that AL Qauda is dead, and that they have been fighting them both in Iraq and Afghanistan, and in the arabic world as a whole.. And that the iraqi population are fighting against the AL-Qauda.. Yes they ARE fighting the extremist Al-Qauda. But they are also fighting the american occupation of their country... If not US is prepared to DO the right thing, they might end in a endless war in Iraq, and maybe even have to fight other arabian country... Not I don't speak about Iran, they are not Arabian. But I mean country like Saudi-Arabia, the Emirates and such.. The regimes of this country are not that all powerfully that we believe.. SA specially have a problem with thousands of angry civilians who want a strict Islamic country.. The SA is already extreme, but many would to it stricter, Much stricter than the current royal house would do it.. And the support for men like Osama Bin Laden is of not on the offensive, so not been fight-ed down to a point where OBL and the other groups are something we don't need to worry about.. The Government of SA, was bribing Osama for 1 billion dollar each year, from 1990 to 2004... And how many millions, or billions are been given to extreme groups after the 2004 attack where even saudi-arabian was killed?. Many believe it to go in the 100 millions... And counting..

This is the fact that the GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES would never tell the american public. That YOUR FRIENDS IN THE SAUDI-ARABIAN ROYAL HOUSE are giving millions if not billions to the extremist, they are promising to fight in the war of terror.. The SAUDI-ARABIAN Royal House depend of a extreme understanding of Islam to rule.. If democracy in one way or other was to come into SA, the royal house would be dead... And the 2000 or so member, would be killed, or must flee the country.. And that is just the IMPORTANT part of the House of Saud.. The real family, or dynasty of SAUD, can count in the 10 of thousands.. All with the strict interesting to let extremist get a strict grep of the population. And every part of the country are doing their biddings.. They who want to reform, are either dead, or given a work/pension where they have NO power what so ever...

IF US was to attack another country, because of support for the Al-Qauda and other Extremist they should look little harder in country like Saudi-Arabia and Pakistan. two country where the sympathy for extremist have been on the rice for many year now.. But who are "Important in the war against terror":..

12. We had the episode with Donohue on tonight.
It was rough. My brother came back from Iraq ok. But I remember sending him off the first and second time that he went over there. The footage from tonight's Moyers show was hard to watch.

I think it's a set of re-runs in a lot of markets due to fundraising drives for PBS.

I can't wait to finally get back to work so I can start giving money to PBS and other worthy organizations.
