McCain has just declared a new front on the landscape of GOP neverending warfare: the War on Asparagus! We have to fight them there before we eat them here! When we liberate them, they will greet us with flowers and hollandaise sauce!

10. OK... I shouldn't dignify your post w/a reponse but, I'll play.

I loved my Grandpa... he was a great guy! Does that mean I think he was qualified to run for president? NO. "Grandpa" is not necessarily a pejorative. In this case, I will leave that judgement to the observer.

In this case, when McCain's advanced age affects matters of judgement, memory, abitlity to retain information, etc. - all age-related infirmities, it is FAIR GAME for the opposition (that's YOU, presumably)to apply as evidence against his fitness to serve. "Grandpa" is a rather gentle way of pointing out his age.

Were I an "ageist bigot", I would certainly not vote for Sen. Frank Lautenberg, who is even older than McCain, but Lautenberg has shown no evidence of slowing down (he still remembers the difference between a Sunni and a Shi ite , doesn't need Joe lieberman to whisper in his ear)... and he is my guy.


You ought to be more thoughtful before labeling others.
