Finally Proof: Smoking Marijuana Can Kill You
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/chi-transplantmay22,0,4806384.story
Timothy Garon, 56, a Seattle musician, died May 1 after being turned down for a liver transplant, in part because he used medical marijuana. Now, a second critically ill patient in Washington state says he has been denied a spot in two organ transplant programs because he uses doctor-prescribed marijuana.

Jonathon Simchen, 33, of Fife is a diabetic whose kidneys and pancreas have failed. He said he was booted out of the transplant program at Seattle's Virginia Mason hospital because he admitted using medical marijuana, and then the University of Washington Medical Center transplant officials refused him as well.

"I'm just so discouraged," said Simchen, a community college student and would-be teacher. "I've lost all remnants of hope. I look at my life right now as if it is a prison term. I just have to serve each day."

3. This is outrageous.
I wish we could get a few hundred thousand smokers together and occupy some of these Hospitals and Universities.

Get some fucking policy changes moving.

6. Time for pot smokers to contact UNOS.org
and withdraw their donations. What they'll harvest smokers' organs but reject them as candidates.

9. A relative of mine was turned down for Social Security Disability
because he used medical marijuana years ago. It turned up on his medical record and when they saw it, they denied him. He is 65, has emphysema and can no longer work.

I can see where the insurance company might connection the marijuana use and the emphysema, but the thing is, they don't deny disability to emphysema patients who smoke tobacco.

10. This is just criminal behavior... on the part of the healthcare providers
Honestly, this guy was in PAIN. He knew that the use of the PRESCRIBED drug was successful in alleviating his condition. Because he was successful in treating himself, without funding BIG PHARMA, he was denied a chance to stay alive. It really is as simple as that. Absolutely outrageous.

11. Why are these recipients refused care for smoking medical marijuana?
That is an outrage; so much for Washington being progressive.

12. Further proof...
...Everyone who smoked pot 100 years ago is dead! Science baffled!

(The doctor says it'll kill me
but he won't say when...)
