wow! a tornado near my house in southern california!

knx radio reports a tornado about 10 miles from my house....reported in Moreno Valley. WE re having severe thunderstorms popping up all over the place. trucks box cars knocked over, big hail, flash floods etc.

3 funnels one of which is on the ground, two dissipated.

just a few sprinkles at my actual house tho

9. we are right at the base of 3000 ft high hills, no prob. but there are flatland areas nearby.

EDIT: Looks like there have been 75 tornadoes in California this decade.

22. Thanks for noting this. Just told my office mate who lives there and is sitting next to me...

He commutes from there down to San Diego and happened to be here today. He just got a call back from his wife and confirms that it touched down close by to where he is. Still no details on damage yet. Anything you post here I'll pass along to him as long as he stays here...

He told me this scene of the overturned train is right next to his house... I guess both he and his wife will be late getting home tonight.
