The Senate seat is not exactly a lock. Look at the 96 race.

6. I disagree.
Kerry is going nowhere.

The Party is going to take a much more aggressive stance, and John Kerry is not going to be there. No Cabinet, no anything at all.

That is why he got all emotional today. He now realizes that he will forever be a Senator.

He doesn't want to be seen in the same light as (that old Southern Senator who used to run for Pres all the time in the 60's {I just forgot his name}).

The Dems are not going to draft a (perceived) loser.

7. Kerry saw himself as a President since his teens
His idol in life was JFK. He met JFK a few times. He dated Jackies step sister. Many people from his youth thought he would be President one day.

I think he might try again in a few years, he just sees this time as too difficult and combined with his Senate seat up in 08, he would rather stay in Govt vs risk being completely shut out.

4. Here's a website
www.opensecrets.org

Where you can see how much he has.

Career profile
http://www.opensecrets.org/politicians/allsummary.asp?CID=N00000245

2004
http://www.opensecrets.org/politicians/summary.asp?CID=N00000245&cycle=2004

2006
http://www.opensecrets.org/politicians/summary.asp?CID=N00000245&cycle=2006

I've not sat down to figure out what it all means or really give the site a good look but you can have at it if you want to.

I think it's important to be clear how much we think he has.

There's a way of looking up his PACs as well.

5. He can do anything Democratic that he wishes.
He has to spend it on Party matters (campaigns, ya know?).

I just think it was awful how he held on to it.

And I hope he never runs for pres again.

Crying about his own lack of future like that, today.
