How about John Kerry for Senate Majority Leader this next term?
Obviously I am biased (see my avatar) but this man should have been our President and I think the would be a million times the leader that spineless Harry is.

What do you guys think?

1. I think he's going to be busy with a few investigations he has planned reBushInc.
and this time, he'll have a Dem president COOPERATING with the needs of the investigation instead of using the office to protect Bush and his cronies the way Bill Clinton did throughout the 90s.

I'd prefer the investigations get ALL of Kerry's attention.

Dick Durbin would be a fine Senate Leader.

2. I'm with you, blm!
I'd love to see him get the AG slot and restart the racketeering investigations that Clinton shut down in the 90's.

Glad to see you here...you've been taking a break from the craziness? :-)

4. What's the truth about Kerry & Edwards?
I've heard that they really haven't had much to do with one another since the 2004 campaign. Just wondering, because if Kerry does indeed take on the Bush Crime Family next year, it would certainly help if he could get along with the Attorney General, who will more than likely be Edwards.

14. Edwards was never keen on govt. corruption investigations when he was in the senate
so, I am not sure what you expect in that regard. I know he targeted corporate crimes as a lawyer, but, going after government corruption takes nerves of steel, as it puts your career, your life, and the lives of your family on the line.

I don't know what Edwards thinks about that.

16. 2004? There isn't a senator in modern history who has exposed more govt. corruption than Kerry
has. In fact - there isn't a LAWMAKER in modern history who has uncovered more government corruption than John Kerry has.

20. You have been misinformed. He kept that investigation going even after US attorneys
Edited on Mon May-19-08 03:51 PM by blm
refused to indict. He took evidence to NY State atty general to get aspects of it tried on state charges, JUST to keep the investigation alive.

You are SMEARING WITH LIES the one person who worked hardest to keep the truth alive for 5 1/2 YEARS, and he listed serious matters outstanding that needed further scrutiny. BILL FOCKING CLINTON took hold of that report when he took office and deep-sixed all those outstanding matters to protect Poppy Bush, Jackson Stephens, Dubai and Saudi royals.

Kerry's senate office was cut off from funding any further investigation and Kerry opened his own office to keep the matters alive as long as he could - NO COOPERATION from the new Dem administration.

BTW - since you can't put two plus two together yourself - do you realize that thanks to Kerry continually taking Bush1 to court over documents, we were ABLE to see the August6,2001, Daily Briefing? Kerry's open government pursuits made that possible. Not that I would expect many who refuse to inform themselves with the facts to ever acknowledge those efforts.

You seem so much more comfortable repeating lies planted over the decades to take Kerry down and marginalize his decades of work - work that establishment DC wishes would go away along with Sen. Kerry.

Nice of you to accomodate the establishment spin.

23. Take it easy Hoss,
I'm just sayin' how it looked to me. If what you say is accurate then I think that's great. No need to repeatedly accuse me in all caps of LYING. I simply read stuff like this:

From: http://www.cooperativeresearch.org/context.jsp?item=a0298bccistifled">Cooperative Research

"Kerry submits his report on BCCI in December 1992, and after that investigations into BCCI peter out." etc...

Please excuse me for falling prey to MSM spin, it really doesn't happen much.

Incidentally, here's a good rundown from David Sirota that entirely supports your version:

http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/features/2004/0409.sirota.html

I should've read this before posting from the hip. My bad.

30. Thankyou for taking the time - it really was never easy for Kerry as he went up against his
own party establishment as well as the DC powerstructure - and it is likely the biggest reason that NEITHER party powerstructure wanted to see him win in 2004. They all knew Kerry would open those books, and then ALL of their legacies would look completely different to the American people.

7. No, I really have Kerry fatigue.
The one thing that really got to me was his words during the 2004 campaign. He said he was going to make sure all the votes were counted. I thought he met on election day. He meant after the election when it made no difference.

4 more years? 8? How about 20? What will it take for you to forgive a man for being destroyed by the media and betrayed by Clintonites (See: James Carville's election night call to his wife)?

18. Had DNC done its job and secured election process in the years after 2000s theft
then President Kerry would be running for re-election.

Terry McAuliffe, Clinton loyalist, was the WRONG MAN to secure the election process for Dem candidates and voters in 20002 and 2004. He refused to strengthen the infrastructure in states where it had been long collapsed making it easier than ever for RNC to stel more election for BushInc.

Terry ignored 2002 and 2004 as he was only looking for Hillary2008.

12. I hope that hasn't extended to the fundraising he did in 2006
or the work he's done on Obama's behalf as of late.

Tired of him or not, he's not going away, and has done some pretty good work since the 2004 election.

I am beginning to think that people want him to go away because he may still be a threat to others and their agenda. Plus he reminds them of everything "lost" from 2004. He has been one of the good surrogates for Obama and it's too bad that some (not all) of O's supporters appreciated.

I also hope he has a place in Obama's admin, if Obama should win.

But I'll be happy with him wherever he wants to be.

But there is alot of potential there and experience that should not go to waste.

21. Name one lawmaker who has exposed more govt. corruption than Kerry has and at greater risk
to career and life.

The Dem party failed in 2004 when it never bothered to secure the election process after 2000s theft.

The RNC stole that election for Bush and the Terry McAuliffe's DNC sat on their hands for four years and watched them do it.

25. I don't consider Kerry a "messiah".
And to consider me a child in this game is a comment of ignorant stupidity.

The problem is you don't know the reality of 2004 and how many of those establishment Dems embedded themselves in the campaign and then fucked him over. At that time we didn't know not to trust the Clintonites. Apparently we found out what they are worth.

And BTW Kerry has been the best fighter on the Hill BAR NONE since 2004 for Democratic/Progressive principles and I include Senator Feingold whom I hold in high esteem in that list.

So who did he sell himself out to exactly?...spineless windsocks like Kerry are dead to me. Feingold is a beacon...not a savior.

31. Kerry has never been an establishment Dem - and how did you like the way Feingold led
Edited on Tue May-20-08 09:14 AM by blm
that Alito filibuster out of his Judiciary Committee hearings? How did you like his work on the Downing Street Memos? Feingold can show the ability to rise to the battle, but never to the degree of consistency and risk that Kerry has throughout his career - Government corruption was never a priority for Russ, and he never targeted serious corruption for any investigation.

You never read the National Security Archives, did you? You do know that there are people who risk their lives and careers so YOU can have access to the material they collect, don't you?

If you did read those documents, you'd know that establishment DC has long considered Kerry to be a threat to them and their legacies - and that goes for Democratic establishment powerstructure, too, who often sided with Reagan and Bush against Kerry - and certainly Bill Clinton, who deep-sixed many of the outstanding matters in IranContra, BCCI and CIA drugrunning operations that Kerry worked years to uncover.

Your uninformed slams at Kerry are as sophomoric as it gets.

They just love to blame Kerry.

Never mind a corporate media that had all the facts to debunk the Swifty lies at hand, an inept DNC chairman, and a Democratic Party that sat on the sidelines instead of playing defense like they are now with Obama (I am glad they stepped up to the plate this time. :)), and Kerry himself has taken responsibility for the campaign. Some people just love to blame Kerry for the fun of it, while the silent establishment gets a pass.

And I agree with your post. Feingold rocks too. :hi:
