When Will McCain Drop Out? Pick the Date Contest.
Yesterday, Obama said, "whether it's John McCain or anybody else..."

As the "presumptive Republican nominee" nears the apex of Mt. Macaca, give the question your best shot.

Rules:

#1: If a date is taken, too bad. First come, first serve!

#2: Watch this video first. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=385x134023

#3: Rate the video on YouTube. (Some rules are made to be broken!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEtZlR3zp4c

#4: Guessing who will take his place is optional.

Looks like I get to go first.
Sept. 1, the last minute, so nominee Cheney does not take a lot of negative publicity until then!

1. he's not going to, I don't believe.
he's a "made man" in the bush administration, The RNC can't let him drop out. It'll be like when Dole ran a failed campaign.

2. McCain will no longer be the nominee when...
...when Bushie declares some sort of "emergency" and suspends the elections altogether.

8. That's not going to happen
I swear, some people think concocting the most ridiculous chicken-little scenarios is a sign of liberalism.

13. yes
I think liberals should object to hyperbolic, paranoid assertions. It's no better when we do it than when the right wing does it. All such stupidity should be countered.

3. McSame is the anointed one.
The bu$h regime and the GOP are fully behind him regardless of how criminal the activity.

IMO: He was promised this spot in 2000 when he took a whipping and kept on hugging from the bu$h regime.

It will take more than that to stop him.

4. I've always said he is either marking a slot or he is a sacrifice candidate.
He isn't strong enough to be a candidate. He is too shaky and is just going through the motions until someone else steps up to the plate. They are either grooming someone behind the scenes or they have given up on winning the next election....or, they already know they are going to pull another 2004 Ohio trick and don't care what McCain says on the trail.

I cannot see McCain in the Oval Office. I cannot see the Republican party supporting McCain for the Oval Office. I just cannot see it!!!

6. I go with the 'designated fall guy'...someone needs to be left holding the bag.
I liken McCain to the chief steward on the SS Titanic. Commodore Guy Bush and his XO Cheney have lashed the steering wheel on course to hit that iceberg. They've called McCain to the Nav Deck and have told him, "we need to leave now, but we've made you the new Commodore! Enjoy the rest of the trip."

9. My father INSISTS he will drop out
"No way" he says "They'll FORCE him out.....the man is insane nd he looks sickly!"

And I just say....."Uh, Dad....how does that explain how an idiot was allowed TWICE to be the standard bearer for the GOP and win?"

Hoping McCain just goes away is like a coach telling his team "Don't worry, those other guys won't show up tonight."

10. Seriously--who else would the RRRepuliKKKlans pick?
I've heard this so often and I don't buy it. He isn't the ideal candidate, but he will do the neoCons bidding as he's proved time and again.

So who? Huckabee is the last thing the wealthy corporate movers and shakers want, Romney is offensive to the fundie base, there are already two libertarian types running (almost) as independents--so who have they got?

by having an old stalking horse stand-in take the heat for most of the
campaign, and flounder to make Cheney look good, not to mention young and healthy.

Can you explain why Herr Cheney is not the candidate?

14. Because the public at large HATES him even more than Bush.
There is no way he can be dressed up for public consumption. He's cranky, mean, charmless, soulless, and isn't even the least bit handsome.

Think what you want, but even the middle right will RUN from voting for Cheney.
