In the liberal, DU spirit: Wishing Jim Robinson a speedy recovery from his surgery
I see on another thread that Mr. Robinson had his leg amputated this week.

After all, we appreciate your service to our country. The ribbing we give you and minions is nothing personal. It's just that you guys are wrong about practically everything.

This is from one vet to another: get well soon.

Seems we were pulled into the gutter on that other thread.

3. Indeed...I thought that other thread was vile and not representitive of this community.
I'd prefer to wish someone the best when they are having life-threatening surgery. I may not share his politics, but we are all humans here. As far as I know.

4. I'm wondering why that other thread is STILL up!
Think we should write the admins about it?
I would be fairly certain it is not the type of thing
they would want on the board.
I would hope so anyway.

I watched my big brother go through the process of a leg amputation- it wasn't pretty, and he suffered pain from it the rest of his short life.

The best of luck to Mr. Robinson.

Jesus loves you more than you will know.
God bless you, please Mr. Robinson.
Heaven holds a place for those who pray,
Hey, hey, hey

Koo-koo-ka-choo, Mr. Robinson,
Jesus loves you more than you will know.
God bless you, please, Mr. Robinson.
Heaven holds a place for those who pray,
Hey, hey, hey
snip---
Sitting on a sofa on a Sunday afternoon.
Going to the candidate's debate.
Laugh about it, shout about it
When you've got to choose
Every way you look at this you lose.
snip--

Get well soon, Mr. Robinson, and be sure to vote Democratic for a better world for yourself and all the rest of us of us. The life you save may be your own.

Many of his freepers need the surgery to snip the nerve connecting their visual cortex to their sphincter.
It gives them a shitty outlook on life.

There are things beyond politics. Like human suffering. Get well soon Mr Robinson. I respectfully disagree with most of the things you stand for but would never think of denying you the right to defend your beliefs. Get well and then it's back on.

Edited to remove an unintended pun.

Edited on Sat May-17-08 11:40 PM by polticalpout
freerepublic.com is not your typical right wing political site. Most Republicans (as I'm sure you know) don't actually want to physically harm Gays and Muslims, but over at freerepublic you will see that this is a common viewpoint and theme. Wishing for the genocide of such people while not calling it genocide is sadly seen in many threads over there. I won't wish him well as I wouldn't wish a Klansman well nor will I wish him harm as I'm working on trying not to do that. But you be the judge, go over and take a dip in the cess pool if you care to see for yourself. May I suggest using the keys words gay and Islam.

69. Apparently he's in a VA Hospital?
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2016095/posts?page=1727
To: Jim Robinson
OH MY - didn’t know YOU had found a way to post an update your own self!
So good to see you posting again.
Glad the VA hospital is being good to you....
does that include the food served to you?
May God continue to strenghten (sic) you, protect you, carry you through all that is ahead for your healing.

That would be a federal government run medical program, not a private corporate "choose your own doc, no waiting in line, get better care, take responsibility for yourself" program that we hear is the way it should be. Funny how when the freeps need government health care, they don't hesitate to use it.

That said, I wish him a speedy recovery and more years of running his unintentionally humorous screed.
