TREASURE VALLEY — Homosexual and heterosexual students should have separate bathrooms and showers in Idaho schools, a Wilder Republican running for the Idaho House said Friday.

Walt Bayes, who gained notoriety two years ago by going on an anti-abortion hunger strike that lasted 59 days, said he wasn’t sure how the issue could be handled other than providing different facilities for gay and straight students in schools.

The topic came up after Bayes mentioned it in his campaign literature, where he wrote, “It is absolutely wrong to force any student to share the same bathrooms and showers with homosexual teachers or students.”

Bayes is a 70-year-old retired blue-collar worker and farmer. None of the three Republicans running in the Tuesday, May 27 primary against him agrees with his position.





I totally agree. The whole gays peeking at straights in bathroom problem has reached crisis proportions, far beyond trivial problems like unemployment, families struggling to make ends meet with soaring food costs, etc. It's the gays in the bathrooms that we should all be most conserned about. :eyes:

30. I'm wondering if this guy's campaign team has tried sitting down to

forge specifics of the gay/straight shower segregation proposal. They probaby have, but are being ignored by THE LIBERAL MEDIA.

There's the cost factor, just for starters. Schools don't have enough for textbooks and band uniforms, so someone's going to have to cough up the bucks to build a second set of bathrooms and shower facilities for LGTBQ students, staff, and faculty.

Also, if his position has merit, we can't just stop at restrooms and shower facilities.

There will have to be separate grocery stores as well. Otherwise a lesbian or gay person might handle the fruit, as it were, in straight people's produce sections of their grocery store, thus rendering said fruit inedible by straight people.

There should also be a separate Interstate Highway system, because there are rest stops on just about all of those, so it follows that if you don't want high school kids to share restrooms with lesbians and gays, you certainly wouldn't expect the general population to either. It will cost a pretty penny to construct a separate freeway system with separate rest stops, but in the name of Fred Phelps, it's surely worth it.

All doors should have two handles, IMO, one for straight people and the other for LGTBQ people.

I am amazed this hasn't been undertaken already. What are we waiting for? Great thanks is owed to this visionary from Idaho.
