The Congressman Fossela story just keeps getting better

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/2008/05/12/2008-05-12_fossella_shuns_his_gay_sister__source.html

Vito Fossella built a career as a staunch "family values" pol, polishing his image in his predominantly Catholic district with a string of anti-gay votes.

He even shuns his gay sister, Victoria Fossella, refusing to go to family events if she and her partner attend, a source close to the family said.

His double life is now exposed with the news he has a 3-year-old love child with a divorced Air Force colonel, and critics are calling him a hypocrite.

"Has the Catholic Church now sanctioned adultery?" asked John Adrian, a 64-year-old gay activist on Staten Island.

"That just makes him that more hypocritical."

end of quote

Yep he shuns his own gay sister for her sinful behavior. Unbelievable.

1. It's amazing how many stereotypes are actually accurate...
The fine, upstanding citizen; the pillar of the community; the purveyor of moral values; the slut. It's almost too typical to be true.

I agree. hypocrite. Well they say pride goeth before a fall and all that.

Thanks for the info. I had only heard of this story rather obliquely, the news cycles run so fast here I can totally miss something important in the amount of time it takes for me do do my shift at work (6-8 hours). I just gotta get unemployed so I can sit here all day :sarcasm: :P

10. The gops have destroyed the word hypocrisy for me
Its requisite overuse sorta robs it of its former punch. Something new is clearly needed. Why isn't language evolving at the speed of Republican scandal??? ;)

On the bright side, the media is actually doing its job :wow:
