"Dumbfuckistan." We're still living it
Some of you may know that I live in a very red area, and work with a very red staff of people. Ironically, this is in the field of education.

After getting an AP test started this morning, I went into the Junior VP's office to talk to his secretary - a Bushbot, somewhat religiously insane, but a friend. I know that some of you may be asking, "Why?". Well, if I were to have any friends, I sometimes have to cross over to the dark side. And she likes my jokes.

Anyway, she was talking with the Sophomore VP about Survivor. I don't know anything about this, and I just kind of shook my head. My friend responded, "maybe you wouldn't be so angry if you'd watch shows like this." I could have been very mean, and ask her such questions as:

Name one Supreme Court justice.
Who is our congressional representative?
Name our two senators in Washington.
Roughly how much is a barrel of oil trading these days?
How many of our troops, now estimate, have been killed in Iraq?

But, I couldn't do it. Then the Sophomore VP, a big Bushbot, said I was too acerbic and I needed to lighten up. I kept my mouth shut, but I did say one thing as I left. I stated they gave me a new signature line for my email - "If you're not angry, you're not paying attention."

Yes, I am angry. And I'm upset that fairly educated people are sticking their heads in the sand. It's all "me, me, me." It will have to take something major to perhaps change their ideas. But as long as they are okay, then the rest of the world doesn't really matter.

This is what we're up against, folks. I think we can carry south Texas, but this type of thinking seems to prevail in the suburbs of Dallas. We're not as bad as, say, Michigan when it comes to our economy. But I guarantee you, it will eventually trickle down to us. And what will I say if it hits one of them hard? I certainly won't call them "angry." I'll just say welcome to the plight of millions of Americans who have been cheated of the American dream by the Bush administration.
