Here's why I won't vote for Hillary in the primaries:
It's a democracy, not an oligarchy or an aristocracy.

Enough Clintons.
And God knows, enough Bushes.

Time for new blood.

5. You act as if the Clintons and the Bushes are equally bad
Besides, who said this was an oligarchy? She'll have to earn the support of voters like anyone else. This isn't a coronation.

9. Exactly.
I ain't voting for her.

But the donors are treating it like a coronation so far.

They'll follow Soros' lead to Obama soon enough, I think.

4. That's not "the same token".
I'm talking monopolies of political families, not their sex.

21. It is as shallow to qualify a candidate by gender as it is by bloodline. "Same token".

7. I won't vote for her either in the primaries, and I won't apologize for saying so.
I simply think there are better candidates in this race already and a couple of potential candidates (Wesley Clark and Al Gore) that are more in line with my way of thinking and don't have the baggage that Hillary brings to the table.

Quite honestly, it's been a right-wing wet dream of Hillary Clinton being our candidate in the general election and I know way too many people who are middle of the road or traditionally democratic voters that have said they will not vote for Hillary Clinton.

That is not to say she would not make a fine president, I just doubt her ability to win.

8. I think the Bushes and Clintons ARE equally as bad
There are several good reasons George Sr and Bill are such great friends. More in common than they realized.

13. I don't happen to think
"she'd make a fine president". Do you think she'd get us out of Iraq? Or just keep up with bombing the shite outta the Middle East?

Do you think she cares about THE PEOPLE or the Corporatebullshit?

How many lobbyists is she going to be beholden to if she slimes her way in?

10. Honestly, I don't see the "name" issue as important
It's not the name that matters to me. It's what the person has done w/ their life.

I don't care that Hillary's last name is Clinton and her husband served as President. She has her very own record of accomplishment. She's never tried to ride her husband's name or coattails.

With Bush though, it's different. He is someone who isn't a very accomplished person. Every indication is that he's tried to advance himself based on his Daddy and his name. If he had his own record of accomplishment as a businessman, Governor of Texas, etc..I don't think his last name would be an issue. But he's made it one.

14. This may sound hopelessly idealistic, but....
...I'd like for our first female president to be a woman who cannot be painted as riding on the coattails of her husband's popularity.

And while you and I wouldn't probably wouldn't think that, I think we all know that if Sen. Clinton wins, we'll hear nothing but how she got elected because of her connections to Bill Clinton.

I'd rather not see such a definitive moment in our nation's history have it's shine taken off of it by such claims.

16. That sorta goes without saying for me.
At this juncture, I am a yellow dog democrat and I'd sooner chew off my arm than pull a lever for a republiscum candidate.

18. bush light
in a primary, my goal is to vote for the person I really like.
In the general I just go with the party.
She seems more conservative than her husband, and he is still to conservative for me.
I just do not understand why lefty dems are fawning over a candidate who obviously isn't a lefty dem.

19. I think opposing someone for family association is just as bad as supporting them
for that reason.

And I am not a Hillary supporter.
