stimulus check
So I did my tax return in March through Turbo Tax and got a direct deposti. Had my fees deducted from my return. Is it true that I will have to wait for the paper check?

Am I reading this correctly?

Q. I chose direct deposit for my 2007 tax refund but also requested a refund anticipation loan (RAL) from my preparer. How does that affect my stimulus payment?

A. Taxpayers who use Refund Anticipation Loans (RALs) or enter into any other loans or financial agreements with a tax professional, such as agreeing to have return preparation fees deducted from their refunds, cannot receive their stimulus payments by direct deposit and instead will get paper checks based on the paper check distribution schedule.

And if so, who do I need to kill first????

3. makes sense to me, you don't want them sending your 'stimulus check' to Turbo Tax do you?
that's the banking info they have on file from your return. They'll send you a check in the next month or so.

sometimes instant gratification has it's drawbacks

5. if you got your RETURN from the IRS, you'll get the stimulus direct deposited too
Edited on Fri May-09-08 10:18 AM by AZDemDist6
the snippet you posted is only if you got an instant 'loan' of your return from TT.

did you get your return right away or did you have to wait for the IRS to deposit it?

the key phrase is this one "but also requested a refund anticipation loan (RAL) from my preparer."

9. well upon further review.
I had them deduct the fees from the return so I will be out until after July 4th....C'est la vie. Wife will be pissed though. That was a fence and a big deposit into my daughter's 529.

11. bummer.
since we didn't get a refund, and I mailed them a paper check to delay the inevitable as long as possible we're getting a check cut in the last week of May.

luckily, hubby's SSN's last two # are in the 20s......

10. I just checked -- mine is in my bank
I used TT and had my refund direct deposited. WooHoo! Alas, I've already spent most of it -- I bought trees for my yard. Maybe I'll use the rest to buy shrubs or flowers.

And he got his portion (we're divorced) just today. His last 2 numbers are 27 and mine are 43...so we should have gotten it at the same time. I'll give it another week, and hopefully it'll be there. Or else the mortgage company will be calling...

Isn't recession GREAT?
