"I Believe That New Orleans Had A Level Of Sin That Was Offensive To God,"
Edited on Thu May-08-08 07:56 PM by berni_mccoy
"And They Are, Were Recipients Of The Judgment Of God For That. The newspaper cariied the story, in our local area, that was not carried nationally, that there was to be a homosexual parade there on the Monday that the , Katrina came. And the promise of that parade was that it was going to reach a level of sexuality never demonstrated before in any of the other gay pride parades. So I believe that the judgment of God is a very real thing." -- Rev. John Hagee, McCain's Endorsing Pastor.

Go Keith Olbermann, Play That Sound Clip Over And Over and Over and Over and Over again until NOVEMBER.

Hagee retracted this statement today, I think it's only fair that All of America get to Hear this Racist, Homophobic Preacher's Hate-Filled Sermons.

About John McCain and Hagee: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jane-hamsher/mccain-proud-of-endorse_b_89227.html

Mr. McCain, who has been on a steady search for support among conservative and evangelical leaders who have long distrusted him, said he was "very honored'' by Mr. Hagee's endorsement. Asked about Mr. Hagee's extensive writings on Armageddon and about what one questioner said was Mr. Hagee's belief that the anti-Christ will be the head of the European Union, Mr. McCain responded that "all I can tell you is that I am very proud to have Pastor John Hagee's support.''

Other little known facts about Hagee (from http://thinkprogress.org/2008/02/28/hagee-mccain-endorsement/):

Hagee holds many other radical beliefs. In a 2006 address to CUFI, Hagee declared:
The United States must join Israel in a pre-emptive military strike against Iran to fulfill God’s plan for both Israel and the West… a biblically prophesied end-time confrontation with Iran, which will lead to the Rapture, Tribulation, and Second Coming of Christ.
...
Update II: Hagee’s tv show, “John Hagee Today,” is also broadcast on Cornerstone Television. In 1999, McCain wrote to the FCC on behalf of campaign contributor Lowell “Bud” Paxson, urging a deal that would have made $17.5 million for Cornerstone.

5. More Hagee quotes...
A bit self-serving, but I dug these up the other day and don't feel like patching in all the html code again.

Really a noble man of gawd and a fine human, too.

Now if he could just manage to have a moment of uncertainty when crossing the tracks in front of an oncoming train...

11. Egads..
That man is positively bonkers.. He makes Wright look like a mall Santa.

I didn't see him bitching on about the evils of worshiping mammon. Which is a form of idolatry unto itself. Didn't see him quote any of Jesus teachings to support his vanity, nor did I see him broaden the implications of the Katrina hurricanes with regard to the Iraq war.

If the Katrina hurricanes were truly a manifestation of the wrath of God, then what can be said of our lack of success in Iraq? Shouldn't Iraq have simply been delivered into our hand as was Jericho? What of the slow motion failure of our own financial institutions and of our economy? The relentless toll food and fuel prices are taking on the US? If God is angered by a gay pride parade to the point of sending a hurricane, why would it be unreasonable to assume he has heaped the rest of this suffering and abject failure upon us for our murderous enterprises in Iraq and Afghanistan?

6. God hates gay adjacent.
Right after Katrina the right suggested the event was due to homosexuality in the city. However, most homosexuals lived in the gay ghettos of the historic areas. The gay areas where actually spared while the poor areas where desimated

12. The "proper borders" of the state of Israel, according to McLoon spiritual advisor John Hagee
"Given these boundaries found in holy Scripture, we discover that Israel will have far more land when Messiah comes than she presently does. Israel's boundaries, established time and time again in the Old Testament, will include all of present day Israel, all of Lebanon, half of Syria, two thirds of Jordan, all of Iraq, and the northern portion of Saudi Arabia."

And you thought the PNAC plan was bad? :scared:

20. Raw, superstitious thought, practiced by humans for thousands
of years before the advent of objective, scientific processing. Such thinking was understandable thousands of years ago, but, for a contemporaneous human to hold such beliefs is either incredibly
stupid or highly disingenuous or both.

21. This country is an offense to God!
God Bless America indeed!

We let a war criminal continue in office, after obvious lies to start a war for greed and oil...millions of Iraqis have been killed and maimed in horrible ways...we knew how dangerous he is and the poor people of New Orleans had to suffer for all of our sins.

And the fact that the media goes on to control our elections with stupid shit like Rev Wright and the like show that nothing has changed, and until we remove the war criminals from office and the Corporate News stations and hold them accountable, nothing ever will.
