Shutdown Day--getting people off the computer for a day
There are quite a few YOUTUBE videos about it--this one is amusing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8OMijrTVBU

3. No idea whatsoever!!!!!
So far, the videos I have looked at either hate the idea or suggest that they'll "forget" to do it. The alternative uses for the laptop one, though, caught my fancy.

2. I can imagine that day would be filled with assault charges
People that are bullies behind the screens might meltdown and act out IRL.

8. Ya think? I always was of the impression that the keyboard commandos
looked more like this:

And the more of an asshole they were online, the more boastful, the more they claimed special backgrounds and impossibly 'macho' credentials, the more one could add unflattering physical traits and a real-life bullied, milquetoast personality. The "Mom's Basement" brigade, is how I see it--a version of that unemployed, middle aged, loser asshole who sent the mysterious powder to Olbermann and others. Perpetual underachievers!

6. Funny Video, Worthless Experiment.
One of the weirdest premises I've seen in a while. What I find inherently silly about the experiment is that I'd wager 99% of anyone who owns a computer at some point has had some sort of computer issue that kept them away for a day at one point in time or another.

But I did enjoy the video anyway. :)
