How about we take a break from the Primary bashfest and help Myanmar
Estimated death count might be up to 100000

So let's come together as a community and help the organizations dealing with the catastrophe:

I'm giving until it hurts.

Keep this kicked.

4. Question catburglar
Do you know if either UNICEF or Direct Relief post donations to the 'net? Don't mind letting folks know about donation just don't want private data out there. Thanks for any info you might have.

7. I haven't donated through their site so I don't know.
I gave through Doctors Without Borders, and I've never had an issue with my privacy with them.

5. Yep, thats what I just picked up on MSNBC just now as well... Seems to me...
a country with military might is going to have to just bite the bullet and go in even if it means taking out the Junta there. The US would be the only country that I can see doing this. How about it US?

get to these people and right now I am not at all certain that it will with the Junta in the country denying access by aid workers.

10. Understandable. If you feel hesitant about donating, how about a call or email to their embassy?

14. Well, their embassy is called the Myanmar Embassy
So that's how they are recognized.

But call it Burma or Myanmar or Cleveland if you want, just kick in a few bucks if you have them and email or call the embassy to urge them to grant the visas to aid workers.

20. Done.
I'm temporarily out of work, but I just donated to Doctors Without Borders. I've long been one of their supporters, and right now they need the money more than ever. If anyone is hesitant to contribute for fear their money will go the Myanmar government, Doctors Without Borders (MSF) are among the Good Guys.
