Irony Alert: Parents protest proposed hotel next to Catholic school..

FALLS CHURCH, Va. (AP) - The Falls Church City Council is expected to vote later this month on a proposal to build a six-story hotel across from a Roman Catholic elementary school.

Parents of students at St. James Catholic School are fighting the construction plan, arguing the hotel would attract crime and sexual predators to the area.

The 110-room Hilton Garden Inn would be built on what is now a parking lot in the 700 block of West Broad Street.

The hotel debate is part of a larger discussion about the pace of development in the city that could shape Tuesday's council election.

The city Planning Commission is scheduled to vote Monday on whether to recommend the hotel project to the city council.


Why, some people would argue that Catholic schools themselves are a haven for pedophiles, wouldn't they?
