3. A second is about all it takes.
The man's one notable military achievement was being shot down by the air-defense forces of a third-world country.

5. Aircraft carrier
I understand he was also responsible for a very bad fire on the USS Forrestal.

7. He was not responsible for the fire
His ordnance cooked off and contributed to the fire but that's because another plane's missile misfired on the deck. He's just an unlucky magnet that attracts disasters.

22. That's what he says. Sentiment among his crewmates was very much the OPPOSITE.
Opposite to the point that his superior officers had
him removed from the ship for his own safety.

Whether that sentiment was DESERVED or not is a question
which is simply not answerable, then or now.

But that incident aside, his overall record paints a pretty
clear picture of a man who was not "unlucky".

Quite the contrary: it was the remarkable LUCK of his birth
that provided decades of protection from the consequences
of his repeatedly-demonstrated INCOMPETENCE.

He was fourth from LAST in his graduating class- better Cadets
than him didn't even get to WASH aircraft, because their Daddies
weren't Admirals. It's a fact.

And once in the cockpit, he managed to destroy FOUR planes
all by himself before a p.o.s. Chinese SAM finally helped
him achieve "Reverse Ace" status.

There are plenty of GOOD pilots who served over Vietnam...
many of whom regularly dodged those same SAMs in HUEYs,
putting along at low altitude.

Just sayin'.

6. The guys who did it won the election for the other guy.
The high road passes by the White House. You can see it from there; but you'll never get there that way. I'm through taking the high road. Anything and everything necessary to hamstring the Nazi thugs who have taken over this country is permissible.

The repukes don't like it, they can kiss my f*****g ass...

Anyway, as far as I'm concerned, let's all mention McBush's service in Vietnam, as often as possible; it should serve to remind people what a long f*****g time ago it all was, and how old the bastard is.

8. And you will win many vets and current active military personnel to your cause NOT
Edited on Wed May-07-08 12:29 AM by nadinbrzezinski
As a military wife (now thankfully retired) I can tell you that POWs are even more hallowed than active duty front line troops

You do what you need to do... just don't be too surprised if a military member, family member or retired gives you a good FU

Even if they think Grand Pa is a little too old to take over that damn watch

Consider yourself warned... and I take it you never served

Oh and one more free clue... they didn't win in 2004

Vote fraud, in Cuyahooga county OH specifically (as well as NM and a couple other places) "won" that election

14. Bad assumption:

I served. With pride.

But any vet who supports the repukes or McSameasBush is a shit-for-brains. This is the most anti-veteran administration in all of American history. If they can't see that, then to hell with 'em. If a service member likes being used as political cover for a gang of misbegotten idiots, fighting an illegal war to rob a nation of its one precious resource and then get cast atop a rat-infested junk heap when their fighting days are over, then I don't have much faith in their judgement. An American who suits up and takes the field ought to know better. Unfortunately, not everyone does...

Any vet who votes for McCain deserves what he gets...or doesn't get...

16. Thanks for your service but....
you do know troops DO NOT choose what war to go to, as long as the order is LEGAL

And unfortunately they've got the legal fig leaf... (as narrow and badly fitting as it is)

As to vets and other service members getting pissed over that shit

They did in 2004, why do you think nobody released the military vote? Why do you think we later learned of the military vote suppression?

Some people will vote for the republicans no matter what, but you will not get many friends among the community

There are many things to attack McInsane over WITHOUT touching his POW status

Let me list some of them

AGE (yes, that is a valid question)

His votes on torture afrer he claimed against it

Constant waffling

His NOT voting for the new GI Bill

His not voting for the VA to be funded

See... I don't have to attack him for being a POW... and that will not play well

The rest, feel free... and is far more damaging

18. Has it really come to this? That we can't even crack
a silly joke, delivered with absolutely no agenda other than to inject a little humor into a very stressful evening, without being accused of being a right winger or of dis-respecting somebody?

Fuck it.

that should be left alone

That is all

And I did not read this as a joke, sorry... after all jokes have a small reflection of what the authors believes and thinks

11. Look at the picture used
I rest my case

And what they did to kerry started in places like this... for once Rove didn't stat that ship, just ran with it

On the bright side, the Obama Campaign (yes we have a nominee) should not be that stupid
