Northrop Grumman takes to internet, airwaves to enlist support for new tanker
I heard an ad for this on the Dodgers-Mets radio broadcast and checked it out online. Apparently, Northrop Grumman is in a contest with Boeing for the military contract for the new aerial refueling tanker, and they're trying to get us to write our Congresscritters, etc.

I've never heard of anything like this.

This is the kind of fodder that we have to use against McCain. Boeing lost the contract because of McCain. Many here will say it's a joint venture between a French company and an American company....it's still not and American company Boeing.

3. Boeing didn't lost because of McCain.
Northrop Grumman offered the better plane.

That decision is up to the Air Force. Would Boeing ever tell any airline to buy a smaller plane because it fits better to the future planes of an airline?

I also hate to hear about this false patriotism "it's still not and American company". The US sells many times more defense equipment to other nations than it buys from them. The UK is not amused about that: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0508/10169.html

Did you like that Poland bought several F-16? May be next time the EU says to Poland buy here or your subsidies will be cut. Ever been to Poland? On every highway you can see a big sign "sponsored by the EU".
