Anyone else noticing higher gas prices?
Looks like the election's over, and the oil executives have bribed enough Congressmen to keep the investigations down to a dull roar.

A couple months ago, gas in my area had gone down to $2.00 a gallon, occasionally lower. Now, prices are up to $2.40/gallon, and some places are going even higher.

After all, we wouldn't want the U.S. economy to get in the way of oil company profits...

4. Gas stations switched to their summer blends yesterday...
which supposedly are more expensive to produce. That's the excuse that was given on one of the many news shows the night before the price jump.

21. Summer blends
Are indeed more expensive...about 2 cents a gallon or so. Gas prices are jumping by more than that, but the law of supply and demand is hitting as Spring breaks are starting to happen.

8. 20 cents in 3 days
looks like the oil barons are giving up with inching the prices up by 1 or 2 cents - now it's more like 5-6 cents every 12 hours

9. Definitely seen it. Up to $2.43 - $2.47 range around here
Every couple of days I'll hear it on the "news" read as a simple statement of fact, then quickly on to "in other news, Anna Nicole Smith is still dead. Reports surrounding the death of her dog are being investigated."

Once it hits around $2.60 or $2.75, maybe we'll hear more about it. Especially with tax time quickly approaching. Doesn't change the fact that it still hits my wallet harder each day.

10. The price is up $0.38/gal in the last month here in the Detroit area.
Since the most recent low of $1.85/gal on January 18, the price is up $0.64 to $2.49/gal right now.

That's a 33% increase.
