What IS it about Hillary that I don't like?
I don't get it-I mean I'm a democrat but I am sitting here watching her on Countdown saying to myself please Al Gore RUN!!!! Maybe it's the McCauliffe,Carville gang all trying to throw rose pedals in our faces.Maybe it's almost this sense of entitlement with all the money and publicity.I don't know but I will NOT vote for her in any primary...

2. She is a faker. She pretends to be normal and you know she's a viper
She is DLC and will sell, if not already, her soul for power and money. And anyone else she knows.
She would throw chelsea under a bus if it meant power.
she is sneaky, unprincipaled and greedy

8. What crap - throw Chelsea under a bus...
When I see post likes yours and the other ones on this thread my first thought is that the poster is unreasonable, unable to actually judge character and more importantly, I would never want to serve on a committee with you.

I am not a Senator Clinton supporter but I am also not accustomed to mature Dems acting like this.

11. That's below the belt. She's been a good mother to Chelsea, as far as I can see. Look how she
turned out. Anyone would be proud to have a daughter like that, and that reflects good parenting. It's shameful what you said, and I'm no huge Hillary backer either.

of two families dominating the WH--Bush and Clinton. Let's move on.

I really hate the the US may become essentially a two-family monarchy. She might end up driving me to my first non-Democratic vote.

p.s.

22. My point. The most capable Dem, male or female, regardless of bloodline.
Hillary will put together a fantsatic team that can fish America out of the social, economic and foreign policy dumpster.

If she's the best person for the job, I say, let her have a try at it.

but the best qualified if you want to look at it from an experience point of view may be Bill Richardson (or Al Gore, of course, if he runs).

I don't trust her, for one thing. Plus, it is time for some new blood in the Whitehouse -- enough of this Bush and Clinton hold on the Presidency.

9. I think she would make a very effective president, but I haven't warmed up to her and I'm not sure
why either. Here's her voting record and most of it looks okay: http://www.vote-smart.org/voting_category.php?can_id=WNY99268 Except her votes for Condo-liar and the Patriot Act. I'm not ruling her out just yet because I think she is exceptionally capable. She's not a knee-jerk liberal, which I would very much prefer, but maybe that's too much to hope for in this day and age.

20. It's good to have positive thoughts. But, here's my thing about the money.
She can't be the nominee if the Dems don't turn out to vote for her. I won't be voting for her in the primary. It doesn't matter if she has $100 or $100 million. I'm not casting a vote for Hillary in the primary. Period.

I voted for Edwards in the VA primary in 2004 (when it was clear Dean wasn't going to be the nominee) and I will vote for Edwards again before I vote for Hillary. If Gore doesn't run, then I may be voting for Edwards anyhow. Too early and potentially too many GREAT Dem candidates.

18. I feel the same way
I think what it is is that she is a very calculating, professional politician.

I think that she says whatever she thinks people want to hear, not what she really feels or intends to do.

I respect her a lot, she is a smart lady and she stood by her husband when he made that fateful mistake. It may not have been for totally selfless reasons, but the fact is that she didn't leave Bill as many women would have done.

She is most definitely not my favorite candidate.

23. I Can Tell You Why Quite Flatly:
And personally, I don't love her nor do I really have anything against her. But from a complete viewpoint of objectivity, I would wager that your dislike of her is for one clear reason:

She just absolutely exudes from all of her pores the embodiment of being a politician. She just oozes out the vibe of a politician.

And let's face it: Most of us have become quite disgusted with politicians.

25. I'm not sure, either. I've felt the same as many on here, too.
I am also a Gore fan. I also probably and most likely will NOT vote for her in the primary (it doesn't matter because the Indiana primary is so much later that it doesn't make a difference and many of the Dems here usually vote for the more moderate candidate anyway--I voted Kucinich in the '04 primaries)

That said.....I have been hearing really surprising viewpoints from my fellow nurse co-workers. On 3 separate days this week from 3 separate people (women)it was volunteered that they WANT Hillary. They WANT a woman president. They think it's time. They aren't caring whether she's for choice or not--and they are more conservative people in most aspects. They stated they didn't care. I was shocked. I thought there was more opposition to her but now I'm thinking that people may be re-thinking things after this present administration's fiasco's.

27. I figured it out while listening to a Stephanie Miller podcast
Edited on Wed Jan-24-07 09:17 PM by rocknation
One of her sidekicks said that he felt that Bill Richardson lacked charisma. Stephanie replied, "That hasn't stopped Hillary!" The sidekick said, "She has charisma--I'm drawn to her." It dawned on me that I'm drawn to her, too--but the closer I get, the less I see. Like a mirage.

29. Maybe it's her track record on corporatism...
As first lady she was opposed to the bankruptcy bill, as a senator she voted for it. It's just a bit to much of the same ol' same ol' and not my preference for a president.

Even with his hawkish remarks on Iran, I'd prefer Edwards with his message of economic populism to Clinton in '08.

Kucinich or Gore or Feingold or 08ama or Clark or a ham sandwich (provided that it was a democratic ham sandwich) would all be far better primary picks than Hillary.

I think that finally, the nation is ready for universal healthcare, but I no longer think Mrs Clinton is ready for true, single payer, universal healthcare. It won't happen the way it needs to happen with her at the helm. She'll be too concerned with making concessions for the insurance and pharma industries.

I know it's a pipe dream but...

Bernie '08?

33. She has a wonderful smile and is appealing in many ways, but she is calculating
in to a degree that chills me. It's the type of calculation, the coldness of her moves that chills the heart. An example of this is the fact that she voted for the war and stuck by that decision for too. This makes me (and many of us_ not trust her, and not see her as a true leader.

I'm sure her sense of political / economic reality is that she knows the so many strings are being pulled from powerful players that we can't even see. Of course she knows that. We forget because we can't see the bastards!

Al Gore is the best person out there. He knows about the puppetmasters, but we're hoping he has learned that he would rather do the right thing even if it means he goes down in flames.

At least I hope he's learned that! If he turned into another wooden stick being driven by the handlers... I wouldn't be able to stomach it.

I'd like to see a woman in the top job -- but not Hillary, unless of course she is nominated. Nothing in the world would make me vote for a Repugnik

34. I think she'll be the candidate in '08
and I think she'll win. Hillary hating is a spent force--the Rethugs have thrown everything at her and yet she survives and thrives. A lot of women I know are sick to death of the white guy power racket, and yearn for something different.

38. Gee, I don't know
a MSM that has been a talking head of a repub'lic' controlled congress for the last decade or so, that impeached her Husband and have gotten their message through so loud and clear that it's seeped into your brain and become YOUR thoughts too...

I share your thoughts about her(although I am rooting for Obama) but I realized the other day that I know Nothing about this woman.NOTHING,except for what the MSM have put up for discussion about her...

I am going to watch her and listen.I'm going to try to forget everything I have heard about her and just let her prove to me why she should be the next President.

Until she proves otherwise I am not going to disparage this woman, there's no call for it except for the right wing, talking heads/repub'lic' controlled congress talking points about her that have been the norm over the last decade+

I even see the "talking points" about her here in this thread,it's very strange really, coming from intelligent Democrats.I mean,we're all so alert to talking points and msm propaganda that I find it hard to believe more of you don't realize you're spouting them off about her here.Seriously,I am guilty of it too about Hilary but like I said I am starting over with her.

She does lack a certain charisma but other than I have no problem with her and would actually LOVE it if Bill was back at the WhiteHouse.Oh,and the fact she'd be the First Woman Prsdient is very exciting as well.
