Karl Rove plotted to remove Fitzgerald during investigation of Plame leak
Ata said Rezko told him in 2004 when the FBI's investigation of Rezko became public, that "there will be a change in the U.S. attorney's office" and the probe would end.

Asked by the prosecutor how Ata imagined Rezko could engineer the change, Ata said Rezko told him, "Mr. Kjellander will talk to Karl Rove and make a change in the U.S. attorney's office."

Robert Kjellander, a leading Illinois Republican and former treasurer of the Republican National Committee, is a friend of Rove's.

"Mr. Rezko said the FBI was approaching people ... asking people to cooperate. He said, 'Those who do will be dealt with,"' Ata said.

Asked why he believed Rezko could get Fitzgerald removed, Ata said, "Mr. Rezko has the influence and power to do that."

Looks like Rezko is going to cut a deal. Will be interesting to see what comes of it.

6. politics in the state of illinois
i knew about the democratic links but karl and his crew is another story....what we found out in the ryan trial fitzgerald does`t stop until the last man is prosecuted. karl should be very worried about fitzgerald in a chicago courtroom.

rezko was "friends" with everyone that could help him make money or get him influence. the courts across the country are filled with guys like him

7. I don't think I'm sure what this sentence means?
""Mr. Rezko said the FBI was approaching people ... asking people to cooperate. He said, 'Those who do will be dealt with,"' Ata said."

Does it imply that the FBI was working with Rove to get rid of Fitzgerald?

Or that the FBI was working with Fitzgerald to get Rove or Rezko?

Those who DO cooperate will be dealth with? Sounds like a threat to someone?

Even after I write this I still don't get it.

All our lives we grew up believing we could trust the FBI. Good parents of good kids went to work for the FBI.

If they could work with the right wing to catch the Clintons, they could have been working with Rove.

Clintons - Arkansas, working with the elves, holding Monica in a hotel room until after an important envelope was mailed - met the Post Office deadline. How much more.

I despise our leaders who pull this stuff on us.

Please tell me that the FBI was working on our behalf this time.

11. It Means The FBI Are Pit Bulls
They got wind of Rezko's con games (probably tipped off by some Pol who got screwed) and once their was suspicion of a crime, Rezko became a target and the FBI dug all around...and if they come up with a crime, they'll keep going until everyone involved is nabbed.

Rezko is political scum...in for himself and those who could make money or do favors for it...be it Dennis Hastert, Rod Blagoyovich (who will probably be taken down by this scandal), Karl Rove, Barack Obama and who knows who else. My bets is his rolodex was loaded...and from local reports (I'm in Chicago), Rezko had been a high roller for quite a while...long before Barack Obama was anything more than a state senator.

What I'm curious about is his relationship with Hastert...not only for removing Rove but for other favors that we was given.

Yes...the FBI WAS working on our behalf...Fitzgerald didn't get a tip that Obama was involved here...just this slimeball made it is point to get into the good graces of as many politicians as he could..."the Chicago way" of doing things.
