How much of local oil consumption does the military use ?

How much of local oil consumption does the military use ?
Maybe if oil gets too expensive , preventing mass starvation will cause nations to utilize energy only for feeding its populations rather than war machinery.

Maybe , thats one hopeful side effect of the energy crunch.

1. Well, overseas, we buy from the host nation. We negotiate a price at the start of the year,
and that's what we pay from 1 OCT to 30 SEP. It's generally much cheaper than what is paid in the overseas nation--except in the case of oil producing nations, where we might get it for way, way less or even 'in kind.'

Military units have a fuel "allowance" that they are expected to stick to, absent emergencies. It's reviewed every quarter. It's also why you see a lot of SEP deployments delayed until OCT. ... no gas in the tank!
