18. Yeah, I remember that one
For some strange reason, he donated $2k to incumbent Sen. Rudy Boschwitz of Minnesota. It was really strange because Boschwitz was a real scumbag. That was in 1990, and the donation was made before anyone had even heard of his opponent, Paul Wellstone, who wound up winning that one. That was Prince's only donation. I wouldn't hold it against anyone for having only one or two donations to the GOP. The ones with long track records, well...

Nobody, including Prince, ever explained the reasoning behind that one. That was pretty bizarre, and I remember the local media being confused as well. I always suspected it was like what Eazy-E of NWA did, where he donated $2K to the GOP National Committee. People really scratched their heads on that one. Eazy-E later said that he bought a million dollars worth of publicity for two grand. Now THAT'S gangsta!

20. Some of those companies also donate to Dems
Edited on Fri May-02-08 01:35 AM by Fighting Irish
They play both sides of the fence.

I'd look for companies that are more lopsided in their donations. If they donate tons to both parties, or are somewhat equal, well, that's how to play the game. They're hedging their bets.

It's been awhile since I played around on Newsmeat, so I can't recall exact amounts for these companies. I do know, without looking, that Coors is a major wingnut company. And their beer tastes like piss.

The founder of Domino's is a hardcore fundie. And the guy at the top of the Amway pyramid pretty much bankrolls the GOP.
