Animal people read this latest atrocity and sign petition
In an ugly bit of news, in 2007, Central American "artist" Guillermo Vargas Habacuc, paid a bunch of kids to chase down and catch a homeless street dog. He then tied the dog to a rope in a barren corner of an art gallery, and left it without food or water. For several days, the 'artist' and the visitors to the exhibition watched dispassionately as the dog starved, suffered, and finally died. Unbelievably, this cruel piece of "art" has been selected by the prestigious Visual Arts Biennial of Central America to be reproduced (with another street dog) at the biennial of 2008. We won't disgust you with the horrifying photos we received, but you can sign the petition protesting this travesty here: http://new.petitiononline.com/ea6gk/petition.html

8. Tx!! CW
Thanks for the headsup. Also, please be aware that many "petitions" of this sort are really fishing expeditions for spam lists and sometimes are never submitted for the purported cause.

4. I hope it isn't true but Snopes doesn't say
exactly, that it is or is not true.

6. In the photo, the dog looks healthy.
The artist says that the dog was well-fed and well-cared for during the exhibit, whose purpose was to remind people of how they ignore millions of stray dogs living on the streets.

7. This has been discussed for a week or more on several pet boards I belong to. Many different
articles have been posted that indicate the dog was only in the exhibit for a few hours a day and was well cared for when not on display.

5. This sounds like more propaganda directed against "illegals."
