Senator Leahy was livid today at US "Justice".
Senator Leahy was livid today in hearings, extremely angry about the case of Arar. The US is refusing to remove him from the "terrorist" watchlist, despite there being no evidence to link him with terrorists. A meeting between Chertoff and the Canadian security minister revealed nothing to convince the Canadian government. This is straining relations with our Canadian allies at a time when the US becomes lonelier and lonelier.

I think the US refuses to apologize because that would make shrub Bush unhappy about admitting that mistakes were made.

Leahy has vowed that this issue will be a question at every hearing remotely related until it is resolved to his satisfaction.

5. Arar has launched a lawsuit against U.S. officials.
Any US gov't admission of screwing up would certainly help his case.

7. Canada is very upset that we tortured one of their citizens.
We need to apologize to our good neighbor.

How is that not possible?

8. It's easy to do something about it. They have enough
with that fact right there. It's the I word. He's unfit as AG. If anyone really is outraged, there's the solution.

9. The US doesn't want Arar to be able to speak in the USA
Further, they are afraid that they have created another terrorist out of another innocent person.
