Bush: "We're going to send Jessica Simpson to the Democrat National Convention"

Bush Lamely Clowns Jess Simpson

When George W. Bush is using you in a bad political joke, it's time for a little career makeover.

That's Jessica Simpson's plight – the President thought he'd inject a little humor into the White House ceremony celebrating the New York Giants yesterday. "We're going to send Jessica Simpson to the Democrat National Convention," he told the Giants, who were visiting.

In case you missed the funny: Jess was blamed for zapping BF Tony Romo of his mojo when the Dallas Cowboys lost to the New York Giants in the playoffs.

5. The first few times it might have been a legitimate mistake, due to his inherent stupidity...
...but he's done it so many times since that I'd feel comfortable calling it a "deliberate error." He knows it's "Democratic"...but it's like his habit of giving everyone nicknames to diminish them. He's calling it the "Democrat National Convention" on purpose.

He thinks he's being cute and original too, I bet. :dunce:

17. It's actually a coordinated effort by Frank Luntz Repukes.
Edited on Thu May-01-08 09:49 AM by 40ozDonkey
The Luntz School of Doublespeak Bullshit concludes that when Democratic politicians are called as they should be, that gives the public the impression that they fully represent Democracy, and Republicans think that's an unfair advantage. So to quash the advantage that they made up, they always make sure to keep the -ic off of Democrat.

They could start a PR campaign to have their politicians refer to defending "The Republic" instead of "Democracy". It's far lazier and cheaper to just change the name of Democrats, but cons sure do love lazy and cheap.

27. IIRC, he was called on that once.
I believe it was after the State of the Union speech, either this year or last year. He claimed that he doesn't speak too well and that he "didn't mean it as a put-down."

So, it's been called to his attention, and he's still doing it.

Dignitude personified.

13. Fair Enough...
...but he beat us twice, in 2000 and 2004.

Then, he got his bankruptcy bill and his education bill and his ringers on the Supreme Court and his war.

Who's the smart one? Who gets the results?

Democrats have to start figuring out how to win in southern states. If they don't, the party is finished.

...so you believe that.

That's not what CNN said. They commissioned their own study with a panel of academics, and Gore still lost.

41. Panel of academics, huh? Well that makes ALL the difference!
I can finally start feeling better about a obviously partisan Supreme Court letting political motivations cause them to issue their worst decision in a century in a half and thus preventing all votes from being counted, because a panel said it wouldn't make a difference!

...that's true, too. I lived in Dallas for almost a decade and I never heard a racial epithet used there.

Not even once, and I lived in a pretty snooty area.

31. You Know...
...if you look at the Clintons, they're trending that way. Both of them are.

That being said, one thousand people per day move to Florida. Five hundred people per day move to Arizona.

Do you want to win or not?

Would you rather be the hammer or the nail?

There's already talk of Hillary starting her campaign for 2012. She hasn't given up. She's not the type.

38. Did you suck too many fumes today, fumesucker?
It takes some work to change minds that have been conditioned practically from birth. You don't have to become a republican, but you DO have to beat them at their game.

One was to do this is to disassociate the gun grabbers from the Democratic Party. This is one thing I hear over and over here in the South... "the Democrats want to take our guns away"... To this day hunting is a way of life for many Southerners. It puts meat on their tables. They aren't going to vote for *anyone* who promises to take away their way of life...

24. He's Chauncey the gardener.
The felonious five selected him for the presidency and without his family and the party/corporate apparatus behind him he'd be working as a day laborer sweeping floors. He's achieved nothing. It's all been handed to him and the only thing he's added is his own special brand of failure laced with hubris.

Edited on Thu May-01-08 09:39 AM by Rob H.
Limbaugh and a lot of other right-wing radio screech monkeys use "Democrat" as a slur instead of "Democratic" all the time. Those knuckle-dragging morons and their equally idiotic listeners are among the only ones left at this point who still support Der Shrubbenführer, and he knows it.

Edit: shpelling.

You would think this pampered prick could've *at least* learned some manners in the last 8 years. I know statesmanship is asking too much, but learning a few basic things like "don't mock your constituents" or even a basic word like "democratIC" should've been possible, even for a man born with a silver coke spoon in his nose.
