Anyone been to helptheneumans.com?
The parents from wisconsin who prayed as their daughter died instead of getting help...

from http://www.helptheneumanns.com/

"While it is true that God created the world and all that is in it, including doctors, we must note: Jesus never sent anyone to a doctor or a hospital. Jesus offered healing by one means only! Healing was by faith. Yes, God created doctors but only to give man a choice between man’s ways -- the doctor -- or His way -- faith! When we don’t have faith we need the doctor and it’s obvious that most want-to-be Christians need the doctors because they have no faith in God; their faith is in man. God created good and evil. Witchcraft can heal also. Should Christians also seek witches?"

"This family had every right, by law and by Biblical principle, to pray for a healing and not seek medical attention. That is not murder. They loved their daughter and were only seeking to do as God teaches in His word. God tells us by faith we are healed. He also tells us to turn from our (man’s) ways and to follow Him. Going to man for healing is trusting man. Going to God is trusting God. Many may argue these points even though the Bible is clear on the subject; however, even if I am in error the law is still the law and the law states this family did nothing wrong!"

"What this really is, is an attempt by the government to make yet another attack on our religious belief in an effort to destroy our faith. If we have no faith, or worse, we are unable to exercise it, we may as well close the door of the church and hold a Bible-burning ceremony. This has to stop now!"

"Common sense tells us that it's neglect if you don't trust in God."

Holy crap. So because they didn't have ER in biblical times this child had to die?

1. Sad. These situations remind me of this:

God is an excuse.

2. I agree, the mother has said 'everything is in God's hands'

So, she's not taking any responsibility for her daughter's death.

There was actually a good peice from a pastor on this where he said people had to use their hearts AND minds when worshipping God. Even the religious people are saying it was a bad thing to do.

4. why take responsibility
when u have an invisible man to blame for anything and everything you do.

and i bet those people are huge advocates of personal reponsibility as well, thats the irony.

8. But, you see, those aren't TRUE Christians
It's right there on the site: people who use doctors are "so-called Christians" or "want-to-be Christians". You can't be a true Christian if you use medicine. Don't be led astray by those false pastors!

3. This is a tragic story.
I feel so bad for that poor girl. :-(

They refused medical treatment because Jesus never sent anyone to a hospital, but they're using a web site to raise money for a legal defense. Why is it acceptable to get help from a lawyer, but not a doctor?

5. I would counter that silly argument...
With lifespan and mortality rates in those times. Then I would pose the question: "If God has meant healing by the power of faith alone, then why are there so many plants and other naturally-occurring things that have healing properties?"

It seems to me that the "faith alone" argument fitted very well into a desert, nomadic culture, where bio-diversity was non-existant or rare. How different their argument might be if Jesus was Chinese.

6. I would like to donate to them
But just like Jesus never sent anyone to the doctor, he also never had anyone use Paypal or the American postal service to carry alms for those less fortunate.

7. Since God will provide...
they don't need any internet appeals for help. Don't they have enough faith?

9. Real Christians handle snakes
If they'd got close and personal with some venomous vipers, I'm sure God would have been sufficiently moved to deploy His famous mercy.
