This is the day on which working people around the world commemorate the workers' struggle for a better world and vow to carry it forward.

The day is the anniversary of a series of national rallies called by American trade unionists in support of the eight-hour day(remember the eight-hour day?) It is also associated with the Haymarket affair

Which led to the unjust executions of seven anarchists by the State of Illinois.

It is the day when the dreams of equality, peace, and a just distribution of wealth, power and hope are remembered and carried forward.
