Hollywood studio making CIA leak movie
Edited on Fri Mar-02-07 04:44 AM by maddezmom

LOS ANGELES, March 2 (Reuters) - Warner Bros. Pictures is developing a feature on the lives of Valerie Plame and Joseph Wilson, the Washington couple at the center of the CIA leak scandal, Daily Variety reported on Friday.

The Time Warner Inc. <TWX.N>-owned studio has secured their life rights, and will also use Plame's memoir, "Fair Game," which is expected to be published late this year by Viacom Inc. <VIAb.N>'s Simon & Schuster, the paper said.

Plame's identity as a CIA operative was leaked in 2003 after her husband Wilson, a former ambassador, accused the Bush administration of manipulating intelligence to build its case for the Iraq war.

The ensuing three-year investigation into who blew her cover yielded one criminal trial, that of former vice presidential aide Lewis "Scooter" Libby, who was charged with lying to investigators.

Studio sets movie about CIA leak scandal

By MICHAEL FLEMING
WB acquired the life rights of ex-CIA agent Valerie Plame and her husband, Joseph Wilson.

Warner Bros. is developing a feature on the lives of Valerie Plame and Ambassador Joseph Wilson, the married couple drawn into a D.C. firestorm.
Plame's status as a CIA agent was revealed by White House officials allegedly out to discredit her husband after he wrote a 2003 New York Times op-ed piece saying that the Bush administration had manipulated intelligence about weapons of mass destruction to justify the invasion of Iraq.

The film is a co-production between Weed Road's Akiva Goldsman and Jerry and Janet Zucker of Zucker Productions.

23. The part I like about Maria Bello is that she is one of the best actresses that people
don't quite remember. I did also consider Laura Lindley.

Alex Baldwin...stature and sex appeal!

Since we're auditioning dead guys, I'd nominate Max Schreck (played the lead in "Nosferatu").

and he's experienced since he played Dracula for so many years. He could probably make himself look creepy enough with makeup.

34. James Woods

People at FDL like him for Scooter, but I see him more as Fitz. I'd go Dustin Hoffman for Scooter -- or Alan Arkin now off his Oscar win.

it is all glammed up with some gorgeous actors. And a REALLY evil Rove and Cheney. I enjoy just thinking about it!
