I was going to watch 60 Minutes for the Scalia piece
But once I heard Leslie Stahl describe him as "unpretentious and down-to-earth" I figured why bother?

1. Think about those words. He always DOES sound down-to-earth
and unpretentious when I've heard him either on an interview or giving a speech. That does not mean he's honest, and straight forward! He's NOTHING like Roberts who always speks like an elitist and is pretentious.

2. I won't put my flat screen at risk, thank you.
No sense ruining it over some bushy-eyebrowed dolt in a long black dress.

4. I'll be watching; he talks about the Supreme Court's role in election 2000.
I saw the commercial; I want to see the context.

5. Do you think the meaning will be different in context?
He said "Get over it," but what he really means is "Fuck you!"

16. She did say he thinks he's 'never wrong' so she enjoys
counting the ways he is, to him and in court. He'll say something, and she'll write her/an opinion on how he is so off base. I don't get it either. He does seem like a condescending, vile man to me.

17. Stahl just gave him an "out" with the torture question.
She referred to torture as "punishment", which Scalia used to wiggle out of the torture question. Then before the commercial break, she referred to him as, "confident". We called it "smug and arrogant".
