How do you fire a General?

I saw where the General in charge of Walter Reed was "fired". How do you fire a General?

1. You don't. He was relieved of command and is still getting paid

and will be until he's discharged/ retired.

Edit: But telling the press he was fired sounds more dramatic, like the DoD is actually, you know, Doing Something.

9. It's the part of the UCMJ describing an investigation for a General Court Martial.

It's jargon ... like "an Aricle 15" is the part of the UCMJ where a unit commander can impose "nonjudicial punishment" on a soldier, within limits, without going to a special or general court martial.

In this case, the charges would most likely be dereliction of duty, conduct contary to the good morale of the Army, and conduct unbecoming an officer. (Just guessing.)

12. Article 32

is roughly akin to a grand jury proceeding. Although it is best to remember - "Military justice is to justice as military music is to music".

As noted above, Teh SOB will just be retired.
