SANTA FE—Democratic Congressman Tom Udall enjoys a hefty fundraising advantage in the race for the U.S. Senate in New Mexico.
Udall, who is unopposed in the June 4 primary, had nearly $2.6 million cash-on-hand in his campaign at the end of last month. That was larger than the combined campaign account balances of the candidates seeking the Republican nomination.
Rep. Heather Wilson reported a cash balance of almost $1.2 million and Rep. Steve Pearce had $854,164.
All of New Mexico's U.S. House members are running for the Senate seat being vacated by Republican Pete Domenici.
The campaigns released summaries of their quarterly fundraising on Tuesday, which was the deadline for mailing campaign finance reports to the secretary of the Senate in Washington, D.C.
