Japan and China leaders plan pingpong summit
TOKYO (Reuters) - Japan's Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda and China's President Hu Jintao are to bond over a game of table tennis, Kyodo news agency said on Tuesday, in a move reminiscent of the pingpong diplomacy that helped thaw ties between the United States and China in the 1970s.
NOW you’re talking. I think all international disagreements should be settled by playing pingpong. I used to be pretty good at the game, myself. But the Chinese Consul, who used to live in my building, beat the socks off me.—Caro
