So, not a peep about our Filthy Torturing "Leaders" among the Filthy Torturing Sunday Pundits
Edited on Sun Apr-13-08 10:57 AM by librechik
They refused to talk about The Torture Regime before because they spat at us that it was just a rumor.

They ridiculed us for even suggesting it!

Now all the bloody graphic evidence is out and confirmed!

Now the criminals--Even Bush!-- have brazenly admitted it!!!!!!

WHY WON'T THEY DISCUSS IT?????

WHERE IS OUR BRAVE TIMMEH, THE GUARDIAN OF OUR TRUTH???

giggling and playing footsie with Cheney's whore Matalin, while her eunuch husband Carville watches.

WHERE IS OUR INTREPID WATCHDOG WOLF?

peeking into the bedrooms of Utah pederast polygamists. I guess he's grateful to have such big-bore ammunition under the
circumstances. You need a big distraction for an outrage this large.

WHY MUST WE ACCEPT THIS SITUATION SILENTLY LIKE SLAVES?????????????

because WE ARE SLAVES.

Like Thom Hartmann says, try to change it and see what happens.

2. Like torture is important
Let me tell you what's important: It's a table full of multi-millionaires opining about the feelings of poor people. The only thing more compelling is a table full of multi-millionaire white guys telling us about their extensive experience attending black churches in the inner city.

Torture! As if.

are bedrock Amurrkin values, and not skewed, exploited reactions to the right wing agenda, stoked by fear and unnecessary privation.

They're working hard to stroke that myth today!

Poor Obama. Truth tellers don't fare well in our society these days. Unless they are "truthiness tellers" like St. McCain.

13. Thanks for the welcome..
Heinlein feared government, something Americans should do more of, IMO.

The Founding Fathers certainly feared government, I think recent events have shown them to have been justified in that fear.

3. I brought a print-out of the true story about Bush & torture to my minister
today. (A very nice, gentle man. But he stands in the church looking inwards from the walls at the congregation. He does not lift his eyes much into the world outside).

"I hadn't heard this. Really? That's terrible. May I keep this copy?"

4. Not one word in the Sunday Boston Globe, either. Complicit traitors. All of them.
I am so angry that I want to scream.

Isn't there some way to sue these rat bastard media corporations for this? Like, co-conspirator in the war; or contributing to the wrongful death of our soldiers.

After this, it is clear that the media is totally supporting the status quo. They just want to put a new face on the old torture.

This non-event is the clearest statement yet that America has gone fascist. The fascist press refuses to tell the truth about war crimes by the top leaders of the country.

What can we do.

and they own the Boston Globe . . . I think they still do?

TORTURE could lead to "war crimes" discussions ---

20. Well, that's having it both ways, IMHO. Boston is a very liberal town, and yet the Globe says zip...
They went with: "A Critical Vist for Benedict, US Flock - A chance for Americans to 'take the cut of his jib' ".

Give.me.a.fucking.break.

The Executive Branch are criminals and they waste their front page on Pope Hitler Youth?

Then the Editorial section goes with "How to Defuse a Human Bomb". And an entire page devoted to some lame cigarette tax argument.

The Globe is toilet paper.

25. It used to be a much better newspaper ---
Edited on Sun Apr-13-08 06:09 PM by defendandprotect
Sorry to hear all of that --- but it was clear when you said they didn't mention torture --

I also wanted to point out that discussions of TORTURE in our newspapers would probably be quite

feared as a gateway to "war crimes" discussions --- which is where I think we should be!!!!

THIS isn't actually connected to anything but right-wing media, but I noticed recently when I was
listening to the BBC recap on the attempt to assassinate FDR unmasked by Brig. Gen. Smedley Darlington Butler --- don't you love that name!!!??? --- that somewhere in there I think the Gen.
quotes them as saying they have the newspapers....

So, we're pretty far back in having our "free press" taken from us ---

27. Re "far back": I see on the net that we are back to beating union organizers in L.A....
they have completely rolled back everything since Roosevelt.

If this blatant admission of criminal wrongdoing doesn't get them impeached, they can and will do anything. I give up on the Corporate Media. I'm taking what stories have been published to my Congress-critters and to anyone else I can get to listen.

28. Did I miss a recent story on that/unions-beatings?
Pretty much everything is gone --- the Treasury is totally open to them --- and now
they're simply stripping the citizens of whatever assets/taxes they can grab ---

I think constantly calling Congress is one way -- and e-mailing which is a pain via the websites ---
They should have direct e-mail links ---

but --- I think Congress, itself is ignoring TORTURE and have been for years!!!????

if I hear more than 3 seconds of the MTP theme music. Don't worry. I'm taking medication, but I can't risk watching.

did anyone who watched find any mention of this week's biggest story? I didn't.

I tried to imagine what Walter Cronkite would do if he were sitting in the anchor chair at CBS news and somebody handed him the AP wire story confirming every bit of ABC's sensational expose. Would he look like Tim Russert, laughing his head off at once of McCain's lame jokes and ignoring the whole thing? I don't think so. I did catch that much of Timmeh, with the sound turned off.

Why doesn't someone start asking those questions to the MSM "reporters" they see standing around before events waiting for the next soundbite...like "Hey, Wolfe, How about that fucking torture memo running around the White House??

How about actually asking one of these candidates about it during one of these whistle stops???

38. I'm almost resigned to a national apathy about torturing brown folks.
That's how a lot of Americans choose to look at this--not necessarily through the lens of race, but just that these are "terrorists" so unlike ourselves that it's not worth getting worked up about.

I completely share your outrage at the news media's complicity in this. Americans wouldn't be apathetic if our goddamned media did its goddamned job.
