It rained like crazy last weekend and now its raining like crazy again.

Of course it was Beautiful during the week.

Our water levels are much improved, but we are still in serious trouble thanks to one of the Worst infrastructures mishandled by one of the Worst state governments in the USA.

I wanna ride my bike...MAKE IT STOP RAINING!

1. The lakefront home owners
are probably praying against you wanting enough rain to bring the water up to their lawns again.

4. No, keep raining.
Rain until this stupid water war with Florida ends. Georgia has been starving us for water for years. I live on the Apalachicola river and we cannot even move barges on our river any more. Our oyster beds are dying from lack of fresh water and catches of all types are down because there is insufficient water to support a healthy estuary.

I know people need water but Georgias advantage in any dispute has put one of the most natural undeveloped rivers in America in peril. I love seafood. I would hate to see it all die out just because someone wants to water a lawn.

7. Yeah I've been visiting Florida from Georgia and I notice
that Florida runs SPRINKLERS when it is raining, and the school next door waters it's tennis courts daily. Yup, Florida needs Georgia's water (gag)

10. I am speaking of the Apalachicola bay estuary.
it is where the chattahoochee river ends up. It is crucial to the seafood industry on the gulf coast. We produce a signifigant portion of the oysters and shrimp consumed in the south east.

Both of these species require a freshwater-saltwater mix to reproduce. Stocks drop directly proportional to freshwater flowing out of the river.

When ever a politician says who cares about a few endangered species when our city needs water he is talking about cutting off an estuary that provides many tons of food and jobs for thousands. Not to mention 100 miles of nearly pristine river basin and a national forest.

13. I take a dim view of draining a lake that provides drinking
water to thousands (probably millions) of people, who by the way cannot even wash their cars, for a state that wastes water daily, and I've seen it.

15. Also, I understand. But OTOH, our lakes provide drinking
water for millions. In times of drought draining those lakes for downriver doesn't sit well, when we've been on water restrictions for months and I see so much waste in Florida.

6. A Class "A" Trout stream goes dry
Rain now yes, but it doesn't reverse the fact that we are only a drought away from disaster from over-demand on our mismanaged, wasted, abused and ignored water resources.

I live in Central Wisconsin and for the past two summers a stream that never went dry in the worst of years disappeared,
along with it wildlife especially native Brook Trout. Now that it looks like we'll have a good winter and spring of precipitation its back to business as usual. Heavy irrigation of crops, lawns and filled swimming pools from wells. We are poor learners.

12. Lake Lanier is only ~6 ft above where it was at its worst point back in the winter
Let it rain. We were only about 18ft above the point where the water intakes would have to be moved/augmented just to get water out of the lake (and pipes start going dry).

If we start the summer around 1060, which is higher than we are currently, we could be in for real trouble.

14. It will catch up - Allatoona is already above summer
pool, and it is amazing how fast it has come up. I was walking on the dry bed only weeks ago and now it is completely back up the bank probably 25 feet again.............................really amazing what rain can do. Plus we need to stop draining our lakes! I can see helping others but not at the expense of denying drinking water for humans.

16. You would think the drought would have been a wake up call to the right-wing
hillbilly Georgia government to get busy and build more reservoirs to supply the water need for Atlanta. . .

17. I have to disagree with you (this one time)
the pollen counts have been in the 3000's.

Rain is my only relief as it washes that crap out of the air. As well as all that puke green crap coming from the pine trees.

I'm scratching and sneezing my ass off here.
