The USS Typhoon encountered "a small high-speed boat and warned it off with a flair". The Iranian boat came within 200 yards of the Typhoon. It reported that there was no sign of weapons on board the Iranian boat. This class of ship is armed, among other nasties, with 6 stinger missiles, doesn't appear to have been much of a contest.

make sure the US boats stay in International waters, and the US always goes REAL CLOSE to the line...then the Iranian guys say THEIR radar shows the US boats are in Iranian waters, and the US guys say they're wrong. I'm not trying to make light of the situation by calling it a game, but that's what it's been at least since the early 90's and Gulf 1.
