I heard it was an indefinite suspension. Is that accurate? It is getting to the point where I'm starting to think that it's actually a termination but they're not saying it. They want to force Randi to do something.

I like Sammy and he belongs on Air America. However, I don't like the way Air America seems to be firing Randi under the guise of a suspension.

That's the only reason I can think of for continuing this ridiculous suspension -- especially seeing as how Ed Schultzzzz calls McCain a warmonger and gets booked on every evening cable talk show he can get to as a result.

a former writer for Randi, who suggests that AAR might just be looking to dump a big contract.

BC: I looked at the video. She was inarticulate. It was in a club, obviously people were drinking. It didn't seem like people were particularly aghast. As far as Hillary being a 'whore' - I criticize her a lot but that's not the word I would use. And something no one is talking about is that she said this in San Francisco where many sex workers are unionized and she used 'whore' as a pejorative.

But as far as what she was doing up there, it looked like something that was not well put together. She was stringing together lines that she has used on the air and ad-libbing around them. That's where the inarticulate language came in. I've seen people do a lot worse - she was getting laughs. I think they'll use the whole 'it's just not funny' excuse but she was getting some laughs.

But she's a rep for sacred Air America - an allegedly progressive talk show network that's now policing what its employees say on a Friday night in a bar. Next comes a memo forbidding on-air discussion of the ACLU.

There are two forces at work here: One is selling Hillary Clinton as feminist martyr, even though she's running with assurances that she'll be the perfect tool of the patriarchal war machine - not to mention a prime beneficiary of said machine. This is where some might apply charges of prostitution. Anyway, this played right into the endless "Hillary as gallant, little victim" stuff. She was the favorite with big time connections and now she's The Little Engine That Could or Rocky, who also lost to a black guy with a weird name.

So ten days later, Force One From Victimhood meets meets Force Two From WEB 2.O - YouTube. This all falls in the lap of suits at perpetually failing Air America - suits apparently looking to dump a big contract.

5. I love Sam Seder.

I wish he could just take that time slot over instead of Randi. I used to really love her but she is so critical of Clinton that it got annoying. She would just spew hatred and venom to the point where I had to turn it off and I don't even like Clinton that much myself.

7. The fact that her show logo is still on AAR's site ...

and that Sam repeatedly is saying he's "subbing for Randi Rhodes" is a sign that they're
not going to fire her ... but I wonder how she'll respond when (if?) she does return to
the air ... Wonder if this is more HER decision than theirs. (Maybe she doesn't WANT to
come back, but they're trying to keep her so as not to lose face.)

Bottom line is, I miss her (warts and all) and hope she comes back SOON.

10. Maybe she doesn't want to satisfy all the conditions for return

like, maybe apologizing to Clinton and Ferraro. I don't know whether that is a condition, but it could be something like that if that is not a condition. That would seem to me to be a reasonable condition for Randi's return. Randi has just lost her sense of balance in her support for Obama. I doubt that Obama would endorse Randi's use of the word "whore" for another Democratic candidate. I'm not especially for Obama or Hillary. I'm a die-hard Edwards supporter.
