Has Al Queda in Iraq EVER planned an attack on the "homeland"??

Warner just asked if what we are doing in Iraq has made us safer? Ambassador Crocker answered that Al Queda in Iraq is on the decline. So therefore I would ask, when has Al Queda in Iraq ever planned an attack on the mainland US? Have they ever found any plots on the USA originating from Iraq?
