My sweet wife has a Masters and one of the brightest women I know, but I still have to explain the cartoons to her. Shit... sometimes I have to explain Sherman's Lagoon to her! So I'm not talking down to you.

In the strip, when BD came back from Vietnam years ago, a Vietcong "terrorist" named Phred - whom BD had befriended - showed up several times. Phred was a mover-shaker type and he probably exists today in the real Vietnam as the guy who owns the factory where your shoes are made.

The above strip simply shows what happens if the US "Cuts and Runs"..... guys come home safe to their wives -"for good this time." and guys like Phred will come here. Not to blow shit up, but to find out what it's all about and polish their capitalist skills... and maybe get laid.
The strip tells us that when the US "Cuts and Runs".... nothing will happen.
