Lyndie England revisited
with the revelation of the Yoo torture memo, shouldn't England and her cohorts see a reduction in their sentences?

What do you think?

2. Mostly I think they should get a lot of company behind bars..
They SURELY shouldn't be the only ones to pay for these war crimes!

I believe Grainger got 10 years, however.

5. Cause She Was "Following Orders"?
I am somewhat sympathetic to Ms. England's plight; especially how she was railroaded by the military once she was exposed, but the pictures sure showed she knew what she was participating in and appeared to be enjoying following those orders. We don't know of those who refused duty rather than have some sadistic fun...and what penalties they paid for having some decency. Sorry, England a sad story, but she was a willing participant.

6. "Following orders" has not been a legitimate defense since Nuremburg
The United States demanded -- and got -- a change in international law. Now, any soldier, no matter how low ranked, who followed an order that violated national or international law is guilty of violating the law. It does not matter how highly ranked was the person who gave the order. Since ignorance of the law has never been a valid defense, England is guilty, period. That her higher-ups should have known better does not in any way change England's guilt.

7. No. Frankly, a person would need an IQ of 75 to not know
that the orders they followed were unlawful and outside the provisions of the Geneva Conventions which ARE taught to US military during basic training.

Based on the Yoo memo, we need to get Yoo, Gonzales, Addington and Rumsfeld in front of the International Criminal Court as defendants.
